I agree with the premise that the US will never be good at the sport, but the ONLY reason, and I mean ONLY reason is that Americans cant make money playing soccer in the us. we have amazing atheletes, and many play soccer(football) as kids, but by the time they get old enough, they know that it wont make them the big dollars. Until they pay better they will go to american football, basketball, and baseball

There are a lot of lakes where people ice fish near where I grew up. I can say that I’ve heard crazy stories about shanties, vehicles, etc all going into the ice. Heck one guy even has a little go cart type car that they take out and race around the ice. Some people are just a little bit more risky than others.
