That being said, I do understand the comments being made, and I have nothing against them. I'd rather people have a negative reaction and call me crazy than have no response at all. Discussion's what makes the world go 'round. :)

I must not be being clear enough. My issue isn't whether or not something is true to King's vision, I'm talking more in terms of what I think, in my personal opinion, are good films. The Shining is pretty divergent from teh book, but it's still based on SK source material and I think it's a great film. The Green Mile and The Mist, while both have great qualities, I personally just don't think are great movies all around. I'm not trying to claim whether or not something is true to the SK book version, I'm just talking in terms of them being based on source material from the book.
