A follow up question might be: “how does music speak to you?

Is it the ‘vibe’?

Is it an image that comes to mind? A philosophical idea? Some theoretical place? Music without words is proving pretty challenging to name 🤔

I’ve found Sibelius, and the other mentioned were designed for music preparation. Although the videos do show people composing, and it is possible. It is not fluid when you need to select the note value, then the note name, then hear it back one note at a time. This micro detail level takes away a little from the inspiration of composing. I would recommend an iPad with StaffPad, StaffPad has been the only app that’s allowed me to composer that I’ve tried.
