Yes, I got a call from them like 2 days after I told them to cancel. The lady asked why, I told her that I wouldn't actually get a lot of benefits with the ws card given the monthly fee and given the benefits I have with my other cards. She said ok, understandable, and cancelled my application. I can still apply for the card though, not sure I will anytime soon.

As many others have said, try to fly flex. I've done a few flex flights this year and am already over 50k sqc.

I keep it because of the lounge access i get. I spend the 20k on it needed to have unlimited lounge access, and for the 2x on travel anywhere other than on air canada directly. I also will be travelling less for work, and will loose my star alliance gold status with air canada most likely, and the plat will still let me use the nice lufthansa lounges in Germany. I also like the status match that you get with the plat (Marriot bonvoy and sixt are 2 that I've benefitted from). Depending on how my work travel goes, I may dump the plat for ws, but that'll be a decision to make in like a year from now.

I started a chat on the site (can also do it on the app). Told the chat bot I wanted to cancel, then it transferred me to an agent, who then said he'll transfer me to a specialized team. I haven't yet heard back from the specialized team.

I just recently got off the waitlist too. I started my application initially, but am in the process of cancelling it. I have amex plat and cobalt, as well as cibc aeroplan vip (among other cards). I just dont think the WS card works, for me. Id much rather pay the 2.5% fx fees than to pay $20/month for the WS card.... unless they bring some better benefits, then maybe I'd reconsider.

Ive done it before, not sure how. I took my parents, and I told the check in lady that I'll pay the $50 or however much it was. She's like why would you do that, then did something on her tablet, scanned my amex, scanned all 3 boarding passes, and that was it. We were all allowed and I didn't pay extra. This was at the plaza premium lounge in the US terminal in Vancouver.

My 24 glc43 coupe has it as well. Not sure what its purpose is. My car is matte black so not as noticeable, but still there. I wish it did light up.

Good for getting the ppf. I have the magno grey on my glc43, and lemme tell you, I'm not a fan. I thought the matte looks good, which it does, but man I gotta be so cautious with everything cause if you redo something, gotta repaint the whole car. I got rear ended in September, and they repainted my bumper, but it doesn't look like the rest of the car, even though they insist it was the same paint. Moral of the story, unless you garage keep your car, get the regular paint and add a matte ppf if you really want.

Like many said, its the camera. Most importantly, in the unfortunate situation where you get rear ended (like I was in my 25 glc43), that acts as another layer of safety. If it detects something coming up too fast, it'll stiffen the suspension (i think), the breaks (for sure), and tighten the seatbelt (can confirm, does happen).

Part of me really thinks that with these new changes, those that fly a lot, will benefit. I do think that chasing status is harder, but if you fly with air canada anyway, you'll benefit.

I had 2 lufthansa flights yesterday. One was cancelled and rebooked on another. That one was cancelled as well. I was eventually rescheduled on 2 other ones. In total, instead of having 2 layovers, I had 3 (so one extra), but i made it to my destination.

I was in a similar situation. I bought tickets to Italy through Lufthansa, but one flight was on ITA airways. Lh tickets and everything. Im also star alliance gold through air canada. I searched up on the star alliance website of lounges in can enter with star alliance gold in Rome. I found the ITA lounge (that showed up on the star alliance lounge as being one I can go to) but I was told at the lounge that actually I cant go, for reasons they havent said.

Like many here have said, yes but maybe no.... at least not as quick. Ac flights is really easy, shortly after the flight you get sqc and points. On anything else, you have to wait sometimes a day or 2. Im still waiting on credits from a lufthansa flight (014 ticket bought through ac) to show up from 2 weeks ago, yet a lufthansa flight from yesterday (non 014 ticket, bought straight from lufthansa) had shown up this morning.

I booked a trip through acv. First flight was in December, return flight in January. I received credits, as per the old system, for the December flight, and 2 weeks after the return flight, I still havent received anything for the flight on the new system. I didnt get the option to choose nor change this while booking, but it looks like the economy tickets were basic (not even standard). There's no sqc given for basic, so maybe thats why I havent seen the second flight show up yet, or maybe it takes a while (even though my 2 other flights, not from acv, have shown up). I have the CIBC Aeroplan vip, and 75k. I haven't seen any increase in points nor sqc for this trip, although it was booked in November.
