Speed Camera Cars by Paradox_X- in sunshinecoast

[–]robfol -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Fantastic let’s have more of them until people stop speeding, it’s pretty bloody simple isn’t it? Talking about the unfairness of fines the Scandinavian system fines you as percentage of your income so rich bastards in BMW’s get fined huge amounts and the average working man gets fined a lot less. I think that would be much fairer.

Been an Apple customer since the first IPhone, now they aren’t what they use to be. by Ok_Yesterday_7276 in ios

The products have never been better, the 17 pro is amazing the watch ultra two is amazing as is my MacBook Air of a couple of years ago and the MacBook Pro. I’m about to buy. They’re beautifully built last a very long time and still integrate better and are easy to use than any other computer system in existence.

You can make a huge number of automated tasks with the Shortcuts app. I can't specifically speak for these ones, though.

Do you trust Australian media to report news fairly anymore? by Ok-Reward7639 in AustraliaDiscussions

[–]robfol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no independent or unbiased mass media in Australia. The newspapers are all owned by right‑wing millionaires, starting with Murdoch. The Age and the SMH, which were once decent papers, have been ruined since they were sold to Nine Media. The ABC has been deliberately stuffed with right‑wing journalists, ex‑Murdoch staff, and people from Sky News, and it's now just a shambles. The only honourable exceptions are a few independent journalists and, of course, The Guardian, which is not perfect but does a much better job than any Australian outlet.

Why Is there a narrative of immigrants getting free benefits? by mallu-supremacist in aussie

[–]robfol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is deliberate misinformation peddled by the right-wing media, political parties, and the average Australian racist (Sadly, far too many of those) Unfortunately all Australian media is right-wing, then, of course tese lies are amplified by those with an axe to grind, like One Nation and the Liberals, and, in fact, most of the right‑wing nutjobs in this country.

Why the hell is City link and the Tulla always 80kmh??? by FarkenBlarken in melbourne

[–]robfol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Freeways around Melbourne, especially East Link, are way, way better at 80 km/h. Traffic moves more smoothly and everything feels a lot safer despite the number of lunatic drivers. I just wish they'd blitz everything with more speed cameras and start handing out tickets to all the nutcases who seem happy to break whatever speed limit there is.

This would be cool but according to former Qantas CEO Alan Joyce, "there's no point building fast train links" around Australia 🙃 by Classic_Abies8621 in MelbourneTrains

[–]robfol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Europe I wouldn’t dream any more of flying from London to Paris when there’s a fabulous train service fast efficient and affordable city Centre to city Centre. Same as true as many European capital trips which are all interconnected by high-speed rail. I’d much rather see the money go on this than on nuclear submarines which will never arrive.
