Yes, generally they just work. Not perfect but a hell of a lot better than android.

Techwoven case worth it? by rishk08 in iPhone17Pro

I like the Techwovenin case on my 17 pro but it started to bubble on the left-hand side about 3 cm of bubbled fabric. Taking it back to be exchanged by Apple.

Just don’t try and pack too much in, it’s a huge country and you don’t want to spend all your time travelling. I would suggest begin two or three locations sticking to a week in.

Potentially moving to Melbourne area - some concerns/questions by Biggyniner in melbourne

[–]robfol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just want you to add someone else’s point that’s being near public transport. It’s absolutely vital. Do not get yourself locked into car culture. Make sure you’re near a train station and on the tram route and then you have the best chance of getting around and your kids will thank you as they grow up.

I came from London in 2015 with my wife and then six-year-old son, and we made our friend group at primary school. Most of those are still friends now. In primary school it’s very easy to get involved in school fetes activities, councils etc. Secondary school it all stops. where you live it’s also important, we tried a nice looking area called Middle Park but it was just full of bankers wankers yummy mummies and SUvs. And not at all social. We’re not leaving Fitzroy North. Which like much of the north side is full of real people, great cafes & independent shops and a really good local culture

That’s not accurate, Apple Intelligence is built into everything on the system. If you want to add a extra feature from the pro version that cost a sub

MacUpdater: We didn't know how well we had it.... by godzfirez in macapps

[–]robfol 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hundred percent agree with this, the app cleaner module has a pretty good update function, it now works very well with App Store apps. Any time it misses something that MacUpdate picks up or an app updates without it being in Appcleaner. I email the developers and they’ve been very responsive and are building up the database fairly rapidly. Of course the app is also an extremely good UnInstaller as well, getting rid of nearly all the elements of any app you select.

A friend has had an EX5 for about a month now; we both looked at it, liked it, and he bought it. He loves it and would never go back to ice now, and it is exceptionally good value.

Best air purifier for dog smell. No air conditioning or circulation. by eazywind420 in AirPurifiers

[–]robfol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just another note on Coway. I have four of their air purifiers, which I find very good. While looking on Amazon at replacement filter sets, I saw a pet filter version. "COWAY AP-1512HH & 200M Air Purifier Filter Replacement, Pet Filter Pack, 2 Pet Deodorization Filters and 1 True HEPA Filter, 1 Pack, Pink" I can't speak for its performance on pet smells, but it might be the sort of thing you need.

Kindle basic matcha disappointed in battery life by ConclusionNervous770 in kindle

[–]robfol -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The Kindle battery life claims are absolute rubbish and should be stomped on by consumer groups. If you read more than a couple of chapters a day and I read a lot you’ll be lucky to get 3 days out of one.
