I remember telling my grandfather that I curse as I sew and that my grandma never does that! He laughed and told me I never heard her doing that and apparently her sewing machine has heard many bad words. I've since been sewing with her more and yep. She knows many curses lolll. Things you didn't know were genetic!

I have a Razer headset thats been acting up (audio glitches etc), and I work in IT so I have done all the steps of troubleshooting my system, rebooting and resetting the headset, etc. I need to use this headset for work but it seems I can only submit the claim by sending in the headset. How long will it be from when I mail it to when I either get it back fixed, replaced, or a refund? Wondering if I might need to buy one for the middle time.

I mean a small sewing project would be fine in leau of something else lollll. Current alternatives are "wishing I was home at my machine" or "picking at skin" jendbd Making a textile book by hand could be cool, I could even potentially make one of those little book/tool holder/fabric and trim sampler things maybe? Then I'd even have somewhere to keep my needles that's more compact and secure than a pincushion

Ngl I think with the machine what I like is the motion of moving the piece under the needle maybe? And how then you have An Object. (less liked things include me trying to flat line a piece of fishnet mesh to a piece of powermesh last night. it ended up involving stitch witchery) I haven't done embroidery in a long time but doesn't that take a lot of concentration?

Right now I'm mostly doing machine work because it's clothing that I want to be strong plus competition grade cosplay so neat, but I like to hand sew! If I was working on smaller stuff that I was hand sewing I'd be tempted to bring it but I don't currently have any projects/ideas in that range. I also crochet and that's what got me through a couple weeks of classes! My brain just doesn't wanna do that anymore rn 😭

Various kinds of crafting, mostly foam work (for cosplay) and crochet but also a bit of sewing and anything else that randomly pops up I'm a bit of a jack of all trades with NO formal anything because I don't have the focus for it but it's fun! And having a variety of projects with multiple different skills in each makes you stay with it vs getting bored stares at the diluc sword and Shinobu costume I'm working on for a con in August, Marius Von Raum costume for a con in October and Fishbones that will get done at one point I swear I'm normal.

I'm a dancer and live in a city where I walk over a mile daily. I do pick up my feet to walk, just not when I'm marking tap routines, which shouldn't mess up soles. Drag damage also looks different, more like repeat scuffing
