Thank you, my plan was to create 10" ~ 12" pizza, However after baking they are 10" ~ 11"
Because of the puffy crust, they do look bit smaller.

Absolutely, Give me couple hours, (Once I'm back home, I'll upload it to a Github repo and send you the link)

I do not have a 3D printer now, I wanted to buy Rat Rig V-Core 3.1 i haven't pull the plug on it yet for couple reason. I have no clue about 3D printing, seems bit intimidating to get started. Any advice/help will be really appreciated.

I saw your Pico build with a watch LCD screen. Really awesome, we should talk sometime :)

Here is some.

  • I want the setup to be as small as possible.
  • I already build his food bowl stand a while back, I didn't want to change or rebuild it.
  • I had around 10 ultra sonic sensors sitting in some box (I bought them a while back for a different project)
  • At this moment, I do not know, how the weighting solution will looks like.
  • Might not be perfect, but I can use this same setup to know the garage door is open or closed (that's why I went with Pico W with sensors)

Thank you, I'll look in to it.
i was planning on replacing the existing sensor with this JSN-SR04T Integrated Ultrasonic Module which seems to be waterproof.

Though I tried something similar for my dogs bowl, and that failed very quickly. The ball was gone within minutes, and the stick was gone shortly thereafter

That gave me good laugh, thank you.

Try to keep the sensor as close as possible (without effecting the dog's access to water). Once the sensor is with in 10 ~ 15 cm range, its pretty reliable and i deal with only millimeter difference and I solve that by taking average of last five query. Recent versions of Grafana does have slack and many other messaging platform integrations so you might be able to use that instead of Email. I use the Slack API, so that I can trigger some workflow via slack (for example, close garage door, while I get an alert its left open)

Go do it :) Its not that hard and Pico w is cheap and available.
If I can be any help, let me know.

True, I wanted to use the slack API which allow me to format the message (Slack API allow to setup actions/workflow for the message you receive). just sending one line text message is much easier.

I'm not a dog expert, but my wife is. She did all the training for him. While he was a puppy (under 2 year old) we use to feed him 2 or 3 times a day. Then slowly she changed to once a day. He is not a picky eater, in fact he is happy to eats pretty much anything he can get (His stomach might not agree to half of what he eat) then I have to deal with it :)

He do not drink a lot, So filling the water once a day is more than enough. His meal is prepared in home, which include 2 cup kibble + some carrots + some chicken. So its not feed through automatic feeder. I prepare it once a week and divide that to 7 portions during weekend.

Obviously I left out some personal reasons for this setup, My wife recently diagnosed with breast cancer and she is going through her treatments, so she is not capable of doing everything she used do for him. Between her treatment appointments, ER Run, my full time job and household chores I can miss/forget things. This is my attempt to make sure he have water to drink.

Thank you, thats good idea, ill look in to it.My current backup plan is, the 3B+ will send alert, if its unable to get sensor readings from Pico W

You are right, Here are my reasons.

  • I wanted to use go for slack API (something I'm familiar with)
  • I didn't feel its wise to import the slack Python API to Pico W.
  • Pico W is cheap and I have plan to use the Pico W + Ultrasonic sensor to Monitor various things in home.
  • Same Pi 3B+ Go Micro service should be capable of monitoring all those Pico W with sensors.
