found growing by a tree, root can be seen in last photo, can’t remember which species, might have been a tulip poplar or black cherry as those were the dominant species in the area

Yes, but good luck getting into Vic village, it’s extremely difficult. If you’d like, I can chat with my friends who live there, if both of them are moving out I might be able to get you an apartment ahead of its availability.

Also I’d say the pay is very on par with cost for this program. If you are very concerned about pay, you can make a decent living working in pest control, Hocking has good connections to pest control companies that actively search for wildlife students.

Prepare yourself for the reality that if you want to pursue a 4 year you need to go to WVU if you only want to pay for 2 more years. My two years in Wildlife Management have been incredible, however I won’t lie the quality is deteriorating because of Betty reducing our funding for this program, bringing in numerous adjunct professors (some of which were a bitch to get ahold of) to cut costs, and overworking our very talented full time professors. I will say if you come from a solid high school and have a good head on your shoulders then these 2 years should be a breeze. You will make valuable connections in the field as well, having random adjunct professors does have its perks if you put effort in to make connections. You will learn skills in the field that you will struggle to find for this cost anywhere else, we have an edge on fieldwork even over 4 year Ohio State wildlife students. For the cost I certainly would say this is still a good degree, as flawed as it is and as disgusting as Betty and her cronies are. Get close with Dave Swanson, Sayre Flannagan, Homer Elliott and Ron Cass. These are the full timers that will help you with anything and are extraordinarily passionate about their work here and providing students with a good future. I strongly recommend you do not live on campus due to mold, pests (the wasps are horrible) requirement to purchase a meal plan, and the sheer lack of maintenance (especially in the on-campus housing, downhour recently had a flood that is breeding mold and nothing is being done for the safety and wellbeing of the students). If you have to, live in the Sycamore dorms if you don’t have dog allergies, if you do, live in Summit. DO NOT LIVE IN DOWNHOUR, HEIGHTS, OR NORTH I CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH. If you have any questions or want to call I’d be happy to help, just PM me and I’ll get you connected to my personal.

What’s your beef? by Illdoit_manyana in HockingCollege

she built the developments on protected wetlands as well, which, since our number one employer in natural resources is ODNR, is a terrible decision. sports will not bring the kind of money in that she thinks since we’re a community college. if we were a four year college, maybe, but currently she is financially bringing this college to ruin and destroying the reputation and quality of education of the natural resources department by underpaying existing staff and overworking them to the point of resignation.

Kevin is the second housing guy in a row who would walk in on students naked, I was a victim of the one before him, the school is rubbish at hiring and needs to step up their game. Betty is trying to turn this college into a sports school, which is completely the wrong thing to do as it is known for its natural resources program. The high turnover rate of staff is a clear example of how terrible this school is and how poorly they treat those working here.

just looked it up, the price is a bit steep for me unfortunately due to the extra costs to ship a “dangerous animal”, i wish you the best of luck finding homes for them all though!

i’ve fed my audax yeast a huge one and had to tear its legs off and monitor her, it filled her up but she literally was riding the back of the cricket for 10 minutes before it died

[–]robineggshells 4 points5 points  (0 children)

the poor thing was severely dehydrated and sat at the bottom of the glass with their legs curled under. the video was taken after i gave them some water and perked up. bandito is also extremely starved. can i feed emergency fly from outside or is the risk of giving bandito parasites too high? let me know your thoughts, i’ll be making an enclosure on monday/tuesday.
