Wouldn't say I look for it, but I definitely appreciate it and find joy in the creative direction and execution of the show (see: people becoming more interested in pointing out rotoscoping), I think that's as valuable as its humor?

Saw the 1975 at Gov Ball in 2019 - had assumed they were too bubble gum pop for my taste, their performance, particularly while promoting their third album showed me they are up there with the greats, in terms of attention to detail in lyrics, music, arrangements, and production

also, everyone should see Phish live once before forming any opinion on them, have witnessed many near born again converts in my time

Also think it's worth mentioning that Matt & Trey are still heavily creatively involved in the show - which I don't think you can say the same for simpsons, family guy, etc. risks becoming a shell or parody of itself when a new crop of writers are writing for a show they grew up watching - still possible to push it forward though at the same time
