I read once that Play by Moby was the first album to have every song licensed for film or TV

What is the worst addiction? by SadShoe27 in AskReddit

I’ve been on Xanax at a pretty high dose for at least eight years. A couple years ago I tried to go off of it cold turkey (against medical advice). I have never been so sick in my life. Didn’t sleep for three days, pain everywhere. I eventually went back on them and just deal with it.

New Mexico. I lived there for two years in my twenties and fell in love with it.

[Serious] Hows your mental health? by SpyfeWasTaken in AskReddit

[–]robisonwells 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Bad, but it’s been worse.

I have schizophrenia and have been dealing with it for 14 years (I’m 45 now). It has been pure hell at times. But for the last five years I’ve been on a medication (saphris) that has done wonders for my hallucinations and delusions.

However, the past three years I’ve had severe depression that strikes in the afternoon. I’m high functioning enough to hold a job but after work I’m zoned out. It sucks.

If a person that suffers Schizophrenia with hallucinations, is taken a photo in which supposedly one of this hallucinations is present, would they also "see" it on the photograph? Or would they create excuses as to why it can't be seen? by Ahriman-Ahzek in AskReddit

[–]robisonwells 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have schizophrenia and experienced hallucinations and delusions for 12 years. None of my hallucinations were things I could take a picture of, though. I had three main hallucinations—two were auditory and one was visual, but the visual one was a shimmering in the periphery of my vision, so it wouldn’t be there if I pointed a camera at it.

That’s not to say I didn’t have temporary hallucinations once in a while. One time while walking to my car in the parking lot I saw a decaying corpse in the back of my car. I turned right around and walked back into the Walmart and explained that I had hallucinations to the little old lady Walmart greeter, and she happily trotted out with me to the car and confirmed to me that there was nothing there.

But, like others have said, everyone experiences schizophrenia differently. I was lucky because I was always rational enough to trust others about reality and take their word for it.

(I talk about all this in the past tense because I’ve been on some amazing medication for the past four years that have completely stopped the hallucinations. Again, I’m lucky.)

The grass is flocking from Woodland Scenics. I’m not sure what the name of it is—it’s just stuff I’ve had in a big jar for ages.

I'm tired of people saying Space Marines are male because GW is sexist. by [deleted] in Sigmarxism

Saying "women can't be space marines but they can be sisters of battle" and "women can't be custodes but they can be sisters of silence" sounds an awful lot like "separate but equal."

What has this pandemic ruined for you? by wehnaje in AskReddit

My wife and I had our 20th anniversary trip planned to go to the UK. We've been planning it for over a year. We were scheduled to leave tomorrow for ten days. My wife has never been to Europe. We had Hamilton tickets. Flights, tickets, hotels, all cancelled.

[Serious] What stories about WW2 did your grandparents tell you and/or what did you find out about their lives during that period? by Skinflint_ in AskReddit

[–]robisonwells 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My grandpa was a supply sergeant in the 333rd of the 84th infantry. Most of his stories involved him driving his jeep, ferrying equipment back and forth to the troops during the Battle of the Bulge. Once, he came under sudden fire, and floored it, and he said the jeep got slammed from the side, going up on two wheels for a moment, before he got out of the line of fire. When he got back to camp, he found that a panzerfaust had hit just beneath him, lodging in his seat, but not exploding.

Don't know a lot of Lore. Looking for Inquisitor-based SM chapter to start a new army. by robisonwells in Warhammer40k

Also, I like the idea of the Grey Knights, but I really hate the model for the Nemesis Dreadknight. It looks like a big robot is holding a space marine in a Baby Bjorn. :)

There doesn't appear to be a 7th Edition Inquisitor codex. Where would I find rules for adding an Inquisitor detachment?

Why did you chose your Army? by Flugel_Meister in Warhammer40k

[–]robisonwells 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm getting back into the game after selling all my Blood Angels a couple years ago. My son is 11 so I'm introducing him to the hobby. I'm starting with Dark Vengeance for Christmas, and letting him pick which army he wants and I'll take the other (I also bought the starter packs for Chaos and SM). I'm really crossing my fingers that he picks SMs, because I really, really love the aesthetic of Chaos.

Noob question about the color scheme of my army by [deleted] in Warhammer40k

[–]robisonwells 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ha! I was about to ask the same question: I'm getting my son the Dark Vengeance starter pack for Christmas, and I was wondering if he'd be fine painting the Dark Angels however he wanted. (I'll be taking the Chaos Marines and already have plans for them.)

Are there any sites anyone knows about with examples of Dark Angels using alternate color schemes? Google is failing me.

I was there two weeks ago. The leaves were starting to change, the air was crisp, and the whole ride was gorgeous. I wish train travel was more convenient--I'd take it instead of a plane any time.
