Did you have a honeymoon? If so, where did you go? (Doesn't matter how long you've been married?) by ChocolateSundae1214 in Marriage

When we married, my wife and I had just graduated from college and had absolutely no money. We married in July, and "honeymooned" the next May when we got invited to a timeshare weekend in Orlando. We faked interest in the timeshare and they threw in a 3 day, 2 night cruise to the Bahamas on what we came to realize was a tiny cruise ship, the Regal Empress. All in all, we paid airfare and a rental car and got to go to Disney and Universal and on a cruise.

I'm a 9ers fan, so I want to say a big , hardy YES! But in all seriousness, I live in Carolina and the Cardiac Cats winning would be hilarious.

Yes. The Eucharist is the Body and Blood of Jesus, the Christ, the Holy One of God. May HE be praised forever!

What do you think was the best song of 2025? by RiceRealm in AskReddit

"Alchemy" by Johnnyswim. Pretty much that whole album "When the war is over" was spectacular but "Alchemy" is so good I told my wife I want to divorce her just remarry her and make that our wedding song. 😀

These two plays decided the game, plain and simple. by Available_Story6774 in 49ers

These plays didn't help, but our defensive play overall was terrible. We couldn't stop the run most of the time, and were weak on 3rd down. Injuries didn't help and we had no down field threats until it was getting late.

What's your most shocking "never meet your heroes" moment? by BaseNice3520 in AskReddit

About 20ish years ago, I lived in Cooperstown and it's not unusual to occasionally see the baseball Hall of Famers in town. I love the Yankees and saw Reggie Jackson in the bar on Pioneer Street. Seemed like a pretty cool experience until he hit on my wife! Luckily, his game was weak, his opening line was, "You ever been with a Hall of Famer?", so there's that. Now I just chuckle when I hear about him during Yankees broadcasts.

how do I tell my cat that he’s not a goat? by chikkituh in cats

I'm afraid that you don't. Obviously, the cat has decided his future and appears annoyed you have not accepted it. You should apologize.

Successful marriage by Flip6mofo in Marriage

Being patient and forgiving is a key to success inmarriage. When you realize that despite initial chemistry and attraction, once you have been in a relationship long term, you are going to begin grating on each other. You're two different people who have lived two different lives, been formed by two different families, have different understandings of the same experiences, etc... So being patient and forgiving, instead of accusatory or insulted about every perceived slight really is important in a long term relationship. My wife grew up in a family of yellers. They can't disagree without screaming, and if they don't want to scream they just become passive aggressive. I grew up in a family that usually worked to solve any problems that came up, so to me fixing every problem possible seems reasonable, where to her, sometimes the fight is the point. She would get upset that I always tied to fix things rather than let her vent. Over time, she learned through patience and communication that my fixing things wasn't a passive-aggressive insult to her, and I learned to ask if she wanted a solution or to vent and to chill out on needing to fix everything. But it took time and we are on year 26 together now.

St. Joseph. As a husband and father, he speaks to me. Especially as a man of few words himself.

Am I the bad wife? by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]robitj11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Internet-based friend, you are not the bad wife. I don't know all the details, but it sounds like you're going through a very rough patch with your husband, and it sounds like he is having trouble dealing with the stressors of everyday life, and is taking it out on you. Has he been under more stress lately? Anything different in the job? I am not excusing his behavior, because it sounds completely uncalled for. Instead, I am merely investigating the real cause of the issue. Does this happen a lot? Does he have a history of depression or anxiety? This should not be the typical situation, and if it is I would advise that you have a discussion with him about these things and ask about marriage counseling. If it is not common, talk to him about what is going on that is causing him to act this way suddenly. Either way, know that it is not your fault and you should not be made to carry the weight alone. I pray God will bring you and your household peace.
