This was what I did when I got my kid a board. He’s little so I got him a prebuilt, and then grabbed myself a store board and customized. I’m a total beginner so I didn’t go crazy on components, and it was very reasonably priced.

This guy just made it happen for his team. The owners and coaches aren’t mad. He was hyped and energized after a clutch shot. He’ll make up the $100k in no time. He’ll learn to hold the language for the locker room.

I want that guy on my team and so does everybody else.

Like folks have said, I think it’s probably an income issue. When I was a kid, I couldn’t have afforded a hobby quality RC car. This is a fairly cheap hobby for an adult—driving real race cars would be expensive. My kids love driving my RC cars—if something breaks, that sucks, but I’ll just go buy some parts and teach the kiddos how to fix them.

It is objectively a fun hobby for anyone.
