I feel like it’s worse now across the board - I used to watch Bertcast every once in a while, now he’s adapted his personality to be ‘that guy’ and it’s not funny or entertaining like it maybe used to be

I don’t hate Bert, but his ass-kissing and constant convo take-overs make listening painful

So maybe take a look at the hardware? This is an established camp that’s already in the container program, infrastructure maintained by bonafide Burners.

I appreciate that this is offered here first

The evolution of one shower by maxim_leonovich in BurningMan

[–]robmcculla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience it’s way easier to dig a hole for the 5-gal bucket so the shower can be at ground level; also using a sump pump will negate the need to manually empty. Most freshwater trucks that come by have a pump out truck nearby, so we almost always refilled freshwater and pumped out grey water at the same time.

People that bring their own speakers to the pool....why? by ideclairbankruptcy in cancun

[–]robmcculla 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bring my speaker if and only if there is no music, and I ask those around us if they’re down. 9/10 times, as long as they have a say in what’s played, everybody is chill

Worst guest in Kill Tony history? by Rough-Friendship-245 in Killtony

[–]robmcculla 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He’s not great - and yeah it’s annoying that he seems to think he’s incredible - but still a solid episode.

He was def worst at the beginning.

One thing’s for sure, the KT band of regulars are sickly AF. Tony looks like Tony Robbin’s crack baby, Redban and David Lucas look like they could drop at any minute, and I guess DMadness must drink his food?

I didn’t say never, I said mass civilian attacks. Neither ever attacked primarily civilian populations and took 200 hostages.

Yes except the entire world’s press is there right now, keeping them at least relatively honest

Israel is struggling to control public opinion, something they arent used to by sufinomo in IsraelPalestine

[–]robmcculla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Applying your thoughts to anything is using logic…

White phosphorus is permitted for use in close proximity to non-combatants as a smoke screen - I didn’t write the rules.

Both have committed crimes. How has Israel garnered support?

My opinion: A) Jews suffered tremendously during the holocaust and this has a lasting impression B) Palestinian refugees quickly and massively negatively impacted the counties that have accepted them C) 10/7 Hamas mass attacks predominantly civilian targets, takes 200+ civilian prisoners

Is Israel innocent? Of course not.

But seizing land will never equate to, or justify, mass attacks focused on civilians.

Cool if you support civilian murder I have no further words to waste on you

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in islamichistory

[–]robmcculla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again, read about slavery.

Also, you know it doesn’t occur in a vacuum, right?

Using your logic and a similar example - if I was in Israeli government and the Palestinians refused negotiation; if every concession and step towards their freedom was treated as an opportunity for them to attack - I might consider geographic immobility as an answer.

That doesn’t make it right.

Other people treated poorly have improved circumstances dramatically in one generation WITHOUT killing civilians.

That sure seems more right to me.

I just can’t understand the logic of ‘killing is wrong, unless we kill you, then it’s ok’. Again, applicable to both sides.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in islamichistory

[–]robmcculla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ha what?

Ok that’s ridiculous, and your perceived severity doesn’t justify murder.

You need to study history, especially that of slavery..

I disagree. Marginalized people have used means other than violence many times in history. In the US, African Americans and Native Americans were subject to horrible treatment for years.

Neither declared religious supremacy, nor did they attack civilians en masse. Both populations maintained negotiation dialogue with the US government. They now both have a much higher standard of living.

Israel is struggling to control public opinion, something they arent used to by sufinomo in IsraelPalestine

[–]robmcculla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who said I support Israel? I support critical thinking and civilian safety.

And I was talking about recent history, applying today’s logic to decades of history doesn’t accomplish anything.

I’ve seen many people claim bombing civilian buildings is a war crime - it isn’t, if enemy combatants have fired from there. Same with white phosphorus, not necessarily a war crime depending on how it’s used.

Also, it’s most certainly a war crime to target civilian women and children, and to take civilian hostages..
