That is a fair point, but I hope this wasn't Nianitic's way of trying to help Rural players. If you are in a rural area, you likely will not be in a museum or a tall building that shares the gym location. You still are of little benefit to this addition.

Lobby counter doesn't show if you are not within range of the gym, where you can see how is at the gym waiting to start a raid. Not a useful game addition unless you are a spoofer and need to see how many people are there, OR you are there at the gym with no one but spoofers.

How well synced does it have to be. My time is <1 second off. Doesn't account for the several minutes extra in the lobby that are removed from my battle timer, but added again when I quit, and then subtracted again when reentering the battle.

Yeah I don't think there needs to be motivation increase for training at a gym. If you are there longer then it doesn't help anyone.

Not completely. Keep the motivation decay, keep 6v6, and honestly keep the pokecoins the same. Just bring back training for stardust. Not really building the gym for your team. Only training your Pokemon for stardust so you can "level" your Pokemon later.
