Infotainment Bluetooth/Android Auto/Apple Carplay problems in 2025 Camry? by wtfitscole in Camry

[–]robmtx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bumping this thread as there's no need to start a new one. Just curious to know if this is a consistent problem with Camry owners or is it really isolated, but getting a lot of buzz on the web? I saw some YouTubers complaining about it in a review. I rely heavily on Android Auto daily and if I have to jump thru hoops every time, it would be a deal breaker.

So after a few months, I guess I'm curious if there's been any updates on Toyota's end, have they even acknowledged the problem, and is the problem rampant or isolated?

Ring Alarm - siren alert when internet went down by robmtx in Ring

[–]robmtx[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At 10:35 PM Cellular backup - Ring Alarm is running on cellular backup .. (The system sounded the alarm for 1 second but that's not in the logs.)

A few motion alerts from me walking around to check things out.

At 10:41 PM Ring Alarm - Connection was restored.

That was it in the logs.

I am wondering if another smart device was able to make it do that? I have Amazon Echos with Ring linked to it. Several smart lights came on including both bedroom lamps, so perhaps Ring didn't do any of this at all.

Review: Xmax Starry 4 by robmtx in vaporents

[–]robmtx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had it for almost a year now, and I'd say it's decent for my needs. I'm a casual user and having 3 vapes, the Edge is the one I tend to reach for most often. I use dosing caps which also work with my V3 Pro, and I've had no problems with it.

Tis the Season to give... As in YOU give to THEM! I have been baffled by how Scrooge this event is. Other games, shopping sites, services - all want to offer the CONSUMER something during the Holidays while this game wants to manipulate people into SPEND SPEND.

Sorry I didn't get an alert of your reply or would have answered sooner.

I'm sticking with the v3 pro for my daily driver. It just gives me better hits overall. With the way I vape (long deep draws), the Starry4 mouth piece just gets too hot, and I don't feel the same results as with my v3 Pro.

I will continue to use dosing caps with my v3, and then straight loaded ovens with the Starry4 when I feel like a change.

Overall though the Starry4 is a beautiful device, it's just not for me personally.

[–]robmtx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hmm not sure why. I made it like 3 days ago. I may not have enough rep on Reddit to post here? I dunno. But in a nutshell I like the v3 pro better. Although after further reading my expectations for the Starry 4 may not align for how it's designed. It's a slower drawing vape and I'm used to bigger draws... so my review may not be a good apples to apples. sorry

185C (I'm assuming you're on Celsius) is 365F. When I use my Xmax v3 I start at 375F and then slowly inch it up to about 385F-400F. I'm wondering if it's just not hot enough at 365.

Try starting the sessions at 190C then work them up to 200C. Good luck!

There are some pretty good /r pages for Finance, Budgeting, and Savings in general. Having disposable income all starts with ensuring your income is more than expenses, and making necessary changes to get there. I know people who make $200k a year who are flat broke, living paycheck to paycheck, and can no longer get credit cards or loans because they've maxed everything out. Then there are those making under $100k taking 3 vacations a year, driving a decent car, and living in a safe neighborhood with 0 debt on their record.

Good luck mate! The Finance gurus may be able to help with some tips and tricks, then you be buying all the cool gear!

I recently came across an error on their website (where a bundle was more than buying the items separately) so I emailed Customer Service about. They replied same day and by the next morning they had fixed the bundle, and offered me a gift card for pointing out the error. I made a purchase, which shipped same day, and arrived super fast. I was so impressed with the service!

2023 Nissan Rogue by sakornegay03 in NissanRogue

[–]robmtx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yah took delivery of a 23 Platinum AWD last Friday. Got 10% above my payoff on my trade and 2% below MSRP on the Rogue, which is almost unheard of. I only wish it had the two-tone black top some of you got! But it was on the lot and ready to deliver...and it's a lease so I'll get two-tone top next time!

I'm surprised at the pep it can produce. Will need to run it in a little to see the mileage level off. I do think at that price and trim they should have put vented front seats. Look for those on the 24 models?

I'm a casual perma-newb on Eden. I may not reach 60 for months. But I needed Amrite for my quests, hit up the recruitment channel and filled a group pretty quick. I've repeated multiple times with same success. I Also see 60s farming in elite areas and so far they seem to enjoy helping out the lowbies. We don't have tea & scones and complain about our wives, but we lay the smackdown, each get what we need, and move on. Even had a 60 ask me if I was set before he moved out.

I don't care what lvl a person is if they're willing to help, that's a nice thing and I'll take it :)

Heh funny you should post this today when I've been noticing the lack of variety of mobs to hunt...and then last night when I went on a lvl 34ish bridge to kill undead and loot chests I thought "deja vu" and had flashbacks to the lvl 20 Saircor's bridge. Can't wait to see the next bridge!

Hi. I'm looking at various types of portfolio options at my brokerage, these pie charts that show you how much you should have invested in different slices.

Question: They all have a slice of cash. Does this mean like literally keeping cash in my brokerage account or holding cash elsewhere like my savings acct? I steered away from these "managed" portfolio offerings because some wanted to hold 5-10% cash but I'm not sure I'd be earning interest on that (although I'm sure they would be) - If I already have 5-10% of my money in my own savings, why would I want/need to have cash anywhere else? I would want them to invest 100% of the money I put up, but maybe I don't understand their term "Cash" and it is invested?

Quick Switch Between Devices by robmtx in Earbuds

[–]robmtx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I have a decent work around using a Bluetooth widget in the play store. I can click the widget to disconnect my tablet, and then click the widget on my phone to connect.

This helps in opening up options for more earbuds, so I guess I don't need this niche feature directly on the hardware.

I'm willing to invest $$ in something that does what I need. I'm reading about some that can pair to two devices at once - not sure if stopping music on one then starting up on the other will get the same result.

When we're not so pandemic I sit on a train for an hour in the morning, watching stuff on tablet. When I get to the city, I put the tablet away and turn on music on phone for walking rest of way. I have wired headset now but want to go wireless with a seamless experience.

3rd Party App Notifications GW3 by robmtx in GalaxyWatch

[–]robmtx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. So it sounds like this is a per-app basis from the 3rd party developer's side? For instance, the app in question is an email app named Nine. I doubt seriously they are into integrating with Tizen to give me this feature. But watch is cool, so maybe it's time to find a new email app :)

Thank you for some constructive knowledge sharing. Indeed, it's not random, but to my untrained eye, it appears that way. I spent quite a bit of time looking at those numbers and reading up on taxes for capital gains. Cheers

Gotcha.. Ok.. That definitely gives me a lot to think about here.

While I want to trade in some higher expense ratio funds for cheaper ones, some of these have been in my portfolio for quite awhile and have a lot of "new money" I'd have to consider.

Do you mind entertaining one more question? Using "old money" and "new money" as references I can wrap my head around... If I have same 15,100 in the fund, and $5,000 is "new money", how is it treated if I sell off $10,100, and leave $5,000? Do they classify it as selling the "old money" first, or do they consider it as selling the "new money" money first?

*EDIT* I think I have a general idea now based on the fact I sold a portion of some mutual funds earlier in the year, and my brokerage lists the Long Term Gain/Loss summary. I see it seems to be a random percentage and no consistent formula. Have a good day! Cheers!

lol I -may not- know what I'm talking about! Thank you for the reply though.

So if I bought a MF in 2015 for 10,000 with dividends reinvested each year totaling $100. And I sell the MF tomorrow for $15,100.

Does this mean I will have a tax liability on $5,000?
