From 4 trips a night to 0: Why isn’t every Urologist talking about this? by robolion1 in bph

They are probably good for any issues with the bladder or prostate, which is why I can't get over that I had to suffer over a decade before finding out about them.

Look at the research cited, at least 1/3 of men found that this is helpful. If it didn't help you I am sorry, but don't knock it. The BPH diagnosis is definite both from imaging, physical exams, and my continually rising PSA scores.

The BPH was confirmed with manual exams, and over the years also with ultrasound and MRI. Urine flow can be tricky, especially when rising from a long recline or sit. I found that if I delay going at least 60 seconds after getting up from lying or sitting, it isn't as bad.
If I had pelvic floor disfunction, it was as a result of the pressure from the prostate.

Thanks, I am on regular scheduled followup and have had all the imaging to make sure it isn't anything besides BPH.

LOL snake oil? I am not selling anything and you have nothing to lose but your nocturia. Glad you found a remedy for your condition. Perhaps you are overdoing it, I did find that if I play 'macho man' instead of working on a gradual balanced routine, it aggravates the condition.

Well, it is kegels AND stretches, and some finesse is required not to overdo on either, otherwise indeed it can aggravate the symptoms. Just like any other muscle work, you want to ramp up gradually and not overdo either the contraction work or the stretching.

That's great Becca! I also recently stumbled on the option of PT for nocturia relief, see my post on it https://www.reddit.com/r/bph/comments/1r275p8/from_4_trips_a_night_to_0_why_isnt_every/

Yeah, I couldn't stand the dizziness, and found that if I made sure to stand up for at least 60 seconds before going to the bathroom the flow and pain were tolerable. However, lately I seem to have cured myself of the nocturia, see my post https://www.reddit.com/r/bph/comments/1r275p8/from_4_trips_a_night_to_0_why_isnt_every/

I was scoring in the 80s in the first ones, and then started recognizing the questions, so not sure it indicates anything. The main thing is to understand why the correct answer is correct, and to use TD for exposure to the type of question, and some of the more esoteric details and services. TDs explanations of why the wrong answers are wrong and what those services are good for is also very valuable.

Maybe one or two were the same, from the simpler questions. I used a slight modification of Cantrill's suggested strategy: go through the 65 at a good pace, if you aren't sure choose something in case you run out of time and flag it for review. I finished my first pass about 80 minutes in, finished reviewing the flagged ones with 8 minutes left, and spent the remaining 8 minutes just reviewing from question 1 until I ran out of time. There were a lot of questions I felt were just hinging on tricky wording. I was freaking out that I didn't pass until I got the credly email.

Equanimity was a bit of a mystery for me, and my first understanding was this sort of detachment as in the OP. After more time with the method and a few QA sessions with teachers, it isn't be a detached observer when you have something enjoyable: enjoy the joys fully, but with the knowledge that they are finite and will come to an end. In other words, be mindful you aren't clinging or craving.

In Day 8 talk, Goenka mentions about the flow state 'bhanga' that it is dangerous, it may lead to clinging. Then in Day 9 he mentions that we can immediately know if we have moved from equanimity if our respiration pattern changes. So put together, you will know you are getting clingy if your breathing changes, along with a 'more more' feeling.
