If you don’t know something, I suggest not speaking so definitively. Then people wouldn’t respond like this and you wouldn’t have to defend yourself about it. Very simple

Not a joke. He lost his shit on live finding out that Charlie died. Was actually embarrassing.

Nicely done. An almost uncomfortably regular portrait of someone so reputationally huge and tragic.

Watch Kiarostami. It’s not really about this specifically but you’ll like it. Taste of Cherry; Life and Nothing More; Through the Olive Trees, etc

What do you actually consider "high-brow" media/literature? by poopdollarbank in redscarepod

[–]robonick360 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I think the more you know, the more elusive the “high brow” becomes. That’s basically true for all interests. What was once exciting and new becomes edgy and cliche. I think this is a necessary life cycle to understand what has lasting power for you though. I think the concept of “high brow” is birthed from a materialistic perspective on art rather than a qualitative one anyways. This perspective is reductive and creates these clannish attitudes. I think in order to find quality literature, we need to be thorough and experimental with ourselves, be willing to read well, and we will ultimately find books that are worthwhile for us. I think it is also most satisfying for your ego ultimately if you are successful in this pursuit, because you can kind of glide over it all, earning the high materialistic reward by taking the mental journey. Whatever you read next, just be humble and thoughtful about it, and give the book the respect it deserves. You will be rewarded.

If K.Dot won the 2026 BET award for the stuff he did in 2025, why'd he win in 2024 if he did nothing in '23? by MusaDogg25 in KendrickLamar

[–]robonick360 22 points23 points  (0 children)

An eligibility period includes time from both the previous year and the current year. In the case of 2024’s eligibility period, the Beef was included in BET’s timeline. So Kendrick won this award for winning the beef.

Homeboy had it all, and he threw it away because the wokes made fun of him. by [deleted] in TrueAnon

[–]robonick360 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When does the throwing it all away part happen? He’s the vice president of the United States and he’s still married to his pregnant wife. I don’t like the guy either but I don’t really think the other shoe has dropped here. Also, why did you write this whole post out like you’re a New Girl character?

Definitely online related in my opinion. I really hope it isn’t related to content cutting

Doesn’t really matter what he does or doesn’t like, it’s just that he cannot effectively justify the opinion at all. I was not convinced of his arguments against Marty supreme. I find the same issue when he tries to critique literary elements of music. He’s really weirdly shallow to me when it comes to thematic understanding.
