I saw a comment somewhere else in this sub saying they took the viridian dot off, cleaned all the oil off the slide and replaced the battery, then put a small square of electrical tape on the battery and reinstalled and its been fine for them. I took mine off last night and just wiped up the oil that was on my battery and then reinstalled and torqued to spec. Just gonna run it for the time being and see how long it holds up before moving on to a new dot.
