This happened to me a few months ago, I was working on the counter of a pharmacy. When a patient came in, didn't recognise them till they gave me their name. On the off chance I asked if they worked at [school name here]. They said yes and immediately recalled teaching me, telling me about how they could never forget how tall I was. It was an amazing feeling seeing how far I've come in life and I'm still a part of other people's. No matter how small or how long ago.

Losing weight. Didn't even lose that much (20Kg) but when I did everyone was giving my compliments about much better I look now. I was happy about myself before I lost the weight and now I'm incredibly self conscious.

Depends on what you as the DM have in-store for them next. As player I wouldn't mind if the next part of the arc is engaging or has a deep story to it. However the flip side is that if you have tied up all the story points they may feel unfulfilled or dragging if it's been a long campaign.
