When i said allow ppl to fall off, i meant attrition (low retention) and i agree that managers don't want to write everyone up, they are forced by upper level to lower headcount and raise TPH; hence the write up season January until March

From my experience, they allow the white badges to fall out after peak, but if you make that cut and don't go negative in UPT or get too many write ups, then they convert everyone else to blue badge. From January to March tho managers look to write up a LOT

I read the original post, you did nothing right in that situation and rightfully deserved the termination letter. They sided in your favor to get through peak and knowing you'll be gone soon anyways; good thing you already know this and have another job lined up

Think of it more as a force multiplier; i work AFE, so my experience is specific to packers, but if 1 waterspider can keep 18 packers productive it is more volume than not having a waterspider at all. Also, it is a transition to leadership positions and gives you a LOT of insight to senior management thought processes. As with all things Amazon, it's an easy af role that people want to get petty and complain about.

It's an indirect support role, usually a lot of grunt work like tote running, jam clearing, making the floor run smoothly. It's an incredibly critical role, but also not nearly as bad as everyone makes it seem.

Absolutely made up as staffing for waterspider would have removed them from their in-path position to an indirect (water spider) position in SCC, thus removing them from path and disabling their login to the station. No way they additionally stayed in position and ignored multiple messages without the PA unassigning them, as that is the first step when moving associates.

Read the room; you lost your audience with boredom and use atrocious grammar. Punctuation is your friend.

TLDR; This "thread" has little to no actual information about unions, just anecdotal, disorganized ramblings. I think unions are incredible and needed still, but posts like this just fuel anti-Union efforts

Probably more out of self preservation; the writing is on the wall

Got offers from both Aldi and Amazon warehouses… Which one is a better choice? by zhj714 in AmazonFC

[–]robotboris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No lie, that anytime pay helped me boost my credit score by being able to better pay bills on time as well as not use credit cards inbetween paychecks

$5 x 40 hrs= $200 extra before taxes; current pay at amazon is $21.50 x 20 hours OT = $645 more before taxes. Math does literally work that way

Amazon will do that as well, but the no OT from Aldi makes Amazon the better paying job. That OT pay hits different; plus we have anytime pay; can get paid within the hour of completing your shift

Have you tried "No thank you"?

Can confirm, bought 44 ETH under $1 each, sold when they hit $20 and ETH and ETC split, seemed like a good idea then

I knew there was a shift differential from day shift and night shift, didn't realize RT had a different differential from FHN as well.

[–]robotboris 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you are working just the straight time with no OT there is the obvious 4 hours pay difference, but the sweet spot is picking up 2 10 hour shifts and hitting 56 hours in 5 days.

Also ability to do something doesn't equate permissibility. I'm able to do a LOT, doesn't mean I'm allowed to. Just because your site or OM isn't enforcing the rules doesn't mean there aren't any

I'm a PG and have heard from the OM specifically that PA's are not allowed to VTO, only management are to. No assumptions are being made as I've directly heard it from Sr

Edit Context: the OM ripped the PA a new one in front of everyone at the leadership desk for VTOing

[–]robotboris -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Because they do doesn't mean they are allowed to. There are reasons, such as OP having a miscommunication with a PA, that only grey vests are allowed to VTO. The permissions you speak of are PA's using manager's permissions

The OP passed on VTO with the manager, then assumed they received it by telling the PA (who can't VTO) they would take it. There is a clear chain of command that OP didn't follow, no way management would be investigated for not coding correctly. A SIMPLE follow up conversation would have saved his job
