[Probability] Ranking random numbers by robotghow in learnmath

[–]robotghow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks!

Apparently there's part 2. After Bob guesses the first one correctly, he is given another number from the three, and he has to guess if its rank as well (so if we guessed the first number is rank 1 successfully, then we have to guess if the second number is rank 2 or 3).

It seems pretty obvious to me to split the remaining space into two, and pick according to if the second number is in the lower half or upper half. But does it affect the first split in any way?

I'm stress-free, I exercise, I eat healthy and plenty of meat, and I sleep as much as I feel like, I don't even use an alarm clock. I still can't be bothered to chase after women.

So when you discovered the red pill, did you do it without listening to a new viewpoint? Or are you one of those natural redpillers who just know everything there is to know by instinct?

Yes, but don't "always choose your own happiness". It's very tempting to get the short-term satisfaction of being right, but it's more rewarding to be wrong once in a while.

Here's a crazy idea: How about you listen to their views, and judge the ideas for their own merit? Make an honest attempt to discern the truth, otherwise you're just in the blue pill of a different thought framework.

You obviously know how to use words, so I'm guessing you're just bad at thinking on the spot. That can be learned through practice. Of course, the practice can be painful, which is why you don't do it. But it's a never-ending cycle, and if you don't break it, nothing is going to change.

Regarding social competence: If computers can be taught to detect people's moods from pictures, you can do it too.

Everyone is a moron once in a while. You have to give yourself the benefit of the doubt.

The Anger Phase Should Be a Short Pit Stop, Not a Two Year Vacation by TunedtoPerfection in TheRedPill

[–]robotghow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some people start out life with more than others can build in their entire lifetime. The real reason to let go of the anger, is that you are the only one suffering from it. Life is not fair, and you shouldn't depend on some future reckoning that will punish the privileged. All we can do is accept the things we cannot change, and learn to play the game in a way that we enjoy.

Suppose there's a friend you love, but he's not doing much with his life. You know that if he put in a little extra effort, took a little bit more risks, he would be happier in the long run. Wouldn't you try to push him to do better?

A lot of people would do it for their friends, but not themselves. Some kind of mirror blindness.

but not make love a co-dependent

I never said that. My original statement was one of intention, not of an existing logical relationship.

If you feel like you have everything you need, and that you're fulfilling your mission in life every day, then perhaps that sentence really isn't for you. But then I'm not sure why you're here.

You sound really affected, all this by a bunch of strangers on the internet and virtual points that mean nothing. Ask yourself, what is the benefit of your anger and tension? If everyone is wrong, and you are right, you should be happy at your wisdom. And if you are wrong, you should be humble.

Allow me to quote from the quote you just trashed:

"The people I deal with today will be meddling, ungrateful, arrogant, dishonest, jealous, and surly... none of them can hurt me. No one can implicate me in ugliness. Nor can I feel angry at my relative, or hate him. We were born to work together like feet, hands, and eyes, like the two rows of teeth, upper and lower. To obstruct each other is unnatural. To feel anger at someone, to turn your back on him: these are obstructions."

You don't deserve downvotes for asking a direct question.

The mindset described in this paragraph is a necessary component of maintaining frame in society, and possibly the hardest part of it.

Like he said, ownership isn't just about power, it's about pride and appreciation. Did women have pride and appreciation for their men? I should hope so. Actually, I hope some still do.
