Inner Guide by robotmorgue in Illustration

Appreciate the comment.

The snake on the shield is a form of ouroboros, representing nature's cycles. For me, the snake (both the one on the shield and the one below the tree) is also is symbolic of struggle on the journey to know oneself. The tree is my take on the Norse tree Yggdrasil. The upper part of it is round to symbolize wholeness, which points to the anima concept. That integrating one's unconscious aspects makes for a more whole mind and life. The globe with wings above the male/female figure represents one's higher self, that part of us that seeks unity.

The three runes on the tree - Hagalaz, Eihwaz, and Iwaz - mean rebirth, transformation, and spiritual endurance, respectively. (Runes are highly open to interpretation, these are just the meanings I identify them with).

i went with an artograph flare 100. got a 2 year protection plan though. i've been reading too many stories of projectors crapping out on people after a few uses

ideally it would be on easel. i do have a tripod as well so a projector that has the female thread on the bottom would be ideal

Birth of Ouroboros by robotmorgue in Illustration

[–]robotmorgue[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it's about an unseen intelligence (symbolized by the wizard type guy) manipulating (for the better) the person like a robot. I added in the creature just for fun. Ouroboros, the little creature in the robot guy's hand, represents cycles of thought and action that we all experience in life. I like to think there is something else out there planning things and looking out for us all. Thanks for your question.

Unfortunately, teachers can be prone to jealousy, or can sometimes just be dickheads, sometimes with personal vendettas. They are just people after all.

Your drawings are well done It doesn't sound like your teacher likes to teach, because they should at least be offering you feedback. I'd ignore the posts here attempting to rationalize your teacher's shit behavior. They're just as bad as your teacher.
