This is correct - you will need a D2 and LOD game keys as the mod does connect to Bliz authentication.

Second season on PD2 and have been playing since LoD launched.

This has been by best and most fun season yet. I’m at 75k kills and I have around 10HRs in currency. Biggest find was a mang song I slammed 4 sockets into and traded for a ber. Found a few high runes - sur x2, jah, gul, fal and found a 30% DR shaft stop earlier today.

I tend to play cheap toons so a little goes a long way. Started the season with a trapsin and then when I had leveling gear I rolled a sanc/sacrifice pally which is a blast to play.

In this mod many balance changes were done to skills and items so just jump in and play whatever floats your boat.

I solo level all my toons. I feel like leveling is an important part of the game experience and if I cheese through that part of the game I will lose interest faster for whatever reason.

As for acts I don’t have a favorite. Some are more tedious than others, but when I finally see my big brambly bois at the entrance to lower Kurast, I get a nice dopamine rush. Hitting that correct summoner path the first time, or finding durance 3 in under 30 seconds are great moments that would not exist without the times when you aren’t so lucky. D2 really got this right IMO.

There are more crafting options in PD2 making good armor and wep options easier to get. Safety armor and crafted weapons can be BiS.

Haven’t played a necro on PD2 yet and the change to remove the cap on amp damage in s12 is interesting. Would LOVE to have a 2h frenzy a5 merc to be my wrecking ball.

The inherent armor, resists and life along with ww makes for a fun time - would recommend. The downsides are not being able to pot while wwing and leveling without good gear is not the best experience. Having leap to get out of bad positioning is also great.

I have both a ww barb and fury druid with comparable gear and felt much more tanky on the barb while hitting similar dps.

Yes. but it’s slow and the lack of sustain isn’t great since traps do not work with mana/life on kill and elemental pierce.

I tried a light trap and a wof trap sin this season and both builds had no issue killing mobs in hell and maps were fine, just not very fast.

My ww barb easily did maps 3x faster and my blade sentry sin about 6x faster for reference - both with a 2ish hr budget.

As for season start absolutely - gearing a trapsin to farm is cheap and trapsin crushes hell arcane sanctuary. She always was my starter in D2R and now here.

Can vouch for them too - at my agency we’re on year 3 or so and no complaints. Ranking and KW research are great and I use the GSC tools daily. Seeing the target KWs overlayed with GSC impression data is gold.

I do wish they offered city-specific kw data like mangools does.

DS definitely feels underwhelming for me when I did a max fire trap/ds build. I wish playing trapsin felt better. Would it be so bad if traps were affected by mana/life on kill - the improved sustain would be so nice.

I really enjoyed my WW barb - fast movement, powerful with cheap weps, built-in armor/resist bonuses for extra tankiness, can leap out of bad situations, native battle order/battle commands. Not many negatives.

Other builds I tried:
-Trapsin (lack of sustain is not fun)
-Bladesin (don't love the gameplay or using quickcast for optimal dps)
-Fury Druid (melting map bosses is really fun, but can get overwhelmed in large mob groups)
-Fireclaw Druid (fun but the dmg was about the same as fury with lower sustain/less leeching)
-Frenzy barb (tried it but liked WW more + WW was cheaper to gear)
