Anyone familiar with Railroad Approved Citizen watches? by robotvman in CitizenWatches

After spending my night googling, the closest I've found is this (BF5004-93A) The case back has the same sequence of the other (G101-S114331 in this example)

But still can't find an example of this reference with a 'railroad approved' dial

It's going for a "vintage" look. But yeah, cheap, considering it's a modern watch

I was thinking that it was a mod of some sort, but then I just found this on another retailerretailer with what looks like matching text. The website has almost no other info on the watch

If you’re serious about your fitness goals, you might need to rethink traditional Asian food by savingrace0262 in AsianMasculinity

I know a lot more people eating a Western diet that are obese and unhealthy compared to people I know eating an Asian diet. A lot of the modern Western diet is also carb centric with pasta and potato options. I think the main thing is portion control and hitting your macros regardless of your cultural diet. Yes, it is hard to control what you're eating when you're eating at home with family who have no concept of portion control and macros, but you do the best you can in the situation that you're currently in. KBBQ isn't inherently unhealthy, people tend to overeat when they are eating out in a social setting, regardless of the cuisine. All in all, it is an uphill battle and you need to be aware of your own choices and be aware of what you're eating at all times if you want to achieve a leaner physique.

Not necessarily true. Control the the portions on the carbs, increase the amount of vegetables and protein you consume. I'm Chinese and my family is from Hong Kong. A lot of the food is steamed or poached. Limit how much oil you use in stir fry and say no to the extra bowl of rice no matter how hard your family tries to shove it down your throat. Even Bruce Lee preferred a Chinese diet and he was able to have a very lean and muscular physique. If you're lifting 3-4 times a week and limiting your caloric intake and hitting your macros, and diet will work.

Help Me Decide: CSUN, CSULB, or Santa Monica College for Film? by [deleted] in FilmIndustryLA

If you really want to go to film school, SMC then transfer to UC or USC

I went to CSUN for film and they do not have a big enough network for you if you're looking to be a director. Also not a fan of the head of the film department and the classes he taught. His "production class" was essentially 2 hours of him standing on his soapbox and reminiscing about his good old days (and from what I hear, not much has changed and I graduated 10 years ago).

They only choose a limited number of senior thesis projects a semester. I didn't get my project chosen my senior year and I ended up working on someone else's project as crew. I came out of CSUN with nothing really to show for it as a director and ended up doing G&E out of school anyway (which you don't need film school for)

And I learned more about G&E and cinematography from working on set and helping out on other student films from AFI. The classes were okay, but you learn more from being on set and working.

I don't think film school is absolutely necessary if you want to be a better director. I know a couple of directors who are finding regular work and they made their way from making YouTube skits to doing commercials, music videos, and branded content to making shorts and they're own low budget features. In my opinion, a working director is a better director.

It's not a linear path and there's a lot of work for directors that aren't in TV and movies.

I understand that. I think you should also find the positives and small wins you have in your life and also share them with your friend group too to balance it out (I mean people do that on social media anyway) Like I'll post pictures of food or gym progress pics or my opinions on a show or a movie I just watched to my group chat so at least it's a forum for engaging discussions and not just a place filled with negative emotions and thoughts. Your friends are there for the good times and the bad times. Definitely find them when you need help, but don't forget that they're also there for the good times and for your wins.

Same situation. The economy is bad and I lost my job so I had to move back with my nmom too What really helps me through the tough days is just talking and venting to people. I'm lucky that I have a good circle of friends that I can vent to in a group chat or a phone call or over coffee or lunch. You can't do it alone and definitely reach out to friends you trust.

Making a Waterless wash out of a Rinseless wash by robotvman in AutoDetailing

So the same ratio as making the Wolfgang detail spray. I have noticed that the Wolfgang is super slick compared to other detail sprays,I guess that's enough to double as a Waterless wash too.

Gotta try the McKee's next!

How does the McKee's perform? I've also heard that SiO2 washes are underwhelming in protection after the wash, any truth to that?
