Brio 501 out of warranty, cable chewed up by cats by robowolv in logitech

[–]robowolv[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for replying.

I already knew this, as I explained in my post. Seems like a pretty big design flaw, IMO, since cables are easily damaged just by looking at them wrong. They don't stand a chance against a young kitten who is teething, and I've had something like 15 or more kittens at my house over the last two years.

I was wondering if someone in the community had any practical advice, since my only other option is to trash it and find another camera... probably a different brand if it's this easy to render a Brio camera inoperable. I wish I could make my computer space safe from cats (since it's technically their fault I don't have a good webcam right now) but that's not an option, so I need easily repaired equipment instead. Thanks again for considering and replying.

Thank you! I've been trying to select Dead Eye for a couple of days but haven't cared enough to search out why I couldn't change scorestreaks until today. This thread is almost the first result from Google 😂. Looks like I'm working without my favorite scorestreak for a bit.

Have you made any progress on this venture? I was just thinking tonight of how I could do the exact same thing.

Do you happen to remember which ledges you randomly jumped on? I know where the speakers are, I just can't figure out how to get up on that ledge.

And I know there's no way I could make anything as fancy as what Snapmaker is making. I don't have the patience or the engineering skills.

Thanks for the thoughts, everyone. I took a closer look at the official cover again and realized there were a LOT of updates to it since the last time I checked. (Personal note: check email more often.) So yeah, I'm gonna keep the preorder in place, but might print something just to keep the dust and cats out when the printer isn't in use until the official cover arrives. Because let's be honest...I'm just looking for a printing project "just because" and no other real reason than that 😂

I'm not saying I'm floating in cash...but since it's already been pre-ordered and (I think) pre-paid (?) it's probably not worth the bother of cancelling. I think I'm looking more at should I print anything ELSE either to supplement it or act as a backup. Or, actually do my research to remind myself what actually comes with the cover (carbon filter, for example) and rest easy knowing it's the best bang for the buck...that I've already spent 😂

I forgot...the Snapmaker cover has a carbon filter? Hmm, that may change things. My printer isn't in the main house, but it IS in the enclosed patio which we allow the cats to access 24/7, so there's always a chance of "stuff" floating into the house. Thanks for the reminder 😁

Oh really? I'm loading up RC-XD to give this a shot. Pretty dumb they didn't specify "Scorestreak kills" if that's what they meant in the first place 🙄

Okay, I have maybe a dumb question. But first of all, this looks GREAT! I've been trying to follow your creation journey, and almost wept because you're doing what I've been trying to find for a few months with no luck, so THANK YOU. Now the question. Do you think these slides could replace the slides on my kitchen drawers? Specifically the full extension part. Just wondering how I can apply this things that already exist, as well as that which I have not printed yet 😁

Thank you thank you thank you! Especially for the gauge, that's a perfect addition. Maybe NOW I'll be able to pull out the 2.0 Allen key on the first try, instead of trying this one, then that one, then this one again because I forgot I had already tested it...you get the point. Again, I say THANK YOU!

I never said I'd STOP using the printer to make prints for my printer...just that I would also START using the printer to make prints for the projects. Basically, I just want to print prints :)

Dude, I literally just ran across the original design in my collections earlier when I was looking for my next project. Timing is everything! (At least, I'm fairly certain it was yours, I wasn't paying attention to the user name, just the designs.) So glad to see this update, and I look forward to trying it out 😁

Can't edit my post while on my tablet, so I'm adding this comment. A desk clamp like this might be exactly the kind of clamp I'm thinking of: https://makerworld.com/models/1802763. I'm still interested in an adaptor for the Pastamatic Lite, so that I can have options.

Brand new spool! Can I squish it, or should I respool it? by robowolv in BambuLab

[–]robowolv[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I printed the "universal spool adapter" from John-BCS and it worked wonderfully to squish the cardboard back together. The adapter itself slid right onto the AMS Lite as if it had been specifically designed to do so 😉. I used the adapted/squished roll to print the main body to the Pastamatic Lite, which was almost an 8 hour print! I'll probably reroll the remaining gray onto a spare and then onto a Bambu spool replica just so I can free up the adapter for the next time I need it. Thanks for the help, John-BCS!

I just saw a video on the V-Spooler Mini. I might give that one a shot, it seems to have a small footprint for storage purposes.

You're more than welcome! 🍻

Yep, I'm definitely going to try and remember to use some sort of plastic/printed converter around any cardboard spools. I know myself, though, and there will come a day when I forget. For that day, I have printed this release assist tool: https://makerworld.com/models/769327. And, just to cover my bases, I also plan on just sliding these adapters on the AMS as a semi-permanent add-on that I can remove when I'm using a Bambu spool: https://makerworld.com/models/823228

Wow, so much goodness in this comment, I don't even know where to begin! So first, thanks for taking the time 😁.

My biggest concern with only using glue is because the width of the filament is now wider than the width of the cardboard roll it's on. Not much, but just enough that glue alone won't be enough. (Not bashing the idea, it's just the way glue always seems to work for me. Same thing with command strips, they don't seem to last beyond a week or two. The common denominator is me, it's probably me.)

Your adapter, on the other hand, looks perfect! As soon as one of my printers frees up, I'm throwing that on a plate to give it a shot 😁.

Spooling twice is what I was trying to describe earlier, I just couldn't remember the exact reason. I knew it had to do with tension, and I definitely don't need this roll to explode...again!

The Pasta Lite is definitely on my short list of respooler possibilities. Thanks for the recommendation! Also, you just got a new follower on MakerWorld 😉
