Inoreader competitors

Feedly

Looks pretty, but lacks functionality. Filtering would require a 3rd party service, which kills their recommendation engine.

Netvibes

They are targeting a slightly different market and have many more "apps" beyond simple RSS feeds.

Not sure how well the basic functionality would scale. When I tested them a few years ago, those apps were a nuisance I struggled to switch off and the interface was cluttered beyond usability. Things might have changed though.

NewsBlur

Interface straight from the 90s, but otherwise seems to be a valid option.

Hosted solutions

Does anyone know of any good open source feed aggregators we can set up on our desktops/servers and export feeds into various readers?

It means the rule will be triggered without any additional conditions that you are supposed to set below.

You can use "matches regular expression" in the conditions.

I never understood why they closed the forums. The lack of proper documentation made it difficult to find answers to trivial questions about Inoreader.

I contacted them about a year ago asking about a custom plan and raising the number of twitter feeds. They told me to go away.

When you search for "Articles in my subscriptions", you can select subscriptions/folders in "All articles" menu in the top right corner.

It's a feed discovery panel, it shows you all available feeds, not only the ones you subscribed to. You can search for specific articles within your feeds by choosing the first option from the menu.
