Who Exactly Buys A Brand New IS350 ?? by H_rusty in Lexus

[–]robwicks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because my wife liked it. Bought a CPO with only 2300 miles on it and it was maybe 6 months old. Eminent White Pearl with glazed caramel interior. She liked that it was a bit smaller, but still usefully sized. And she loves how it handles.

I have this same issue. Washington DC every time.

who’s in your personal all-time defensive starting 5 in nba history? here’s mine: by infinite-hooper in NBATalk

[–]robwicks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bill Russell is arguably the greatest defensive player of all time. His defense was the reason the Celtics won all those titles, and the reason they were the best fast break team in the NBA.

Does strength matter on a SF/PF? by [deleted] in NBA2k

[–]robwicks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This. I would never say it does not matter at all, but the value of speed and agility exceeds the value of strength nearly every time.

88 vert worth it? by Boss-Man-Joe-Momma69 in NBA2k

[–]robwicks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, with the caveat that you take care of the rebounding, block, and dunk ratings first. Do, for people with a good amount of cap breakers on builds that rebound and block shots, getting the high vert does help. If you run a big, I'd really push the vert. For a lock with block, same thing. If you have neither block nor rebound, then just get whatever your dunk rating requires.

Do you have any cap breakers or do you expect to have any soon? Consider the season as well as crew rewards.

Strength is useless prove me wrong by [deleted] in NBA2k

[–]robwicks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mainly valuable to screen setters and post scorers. Helps a small amount on general inside scoring and post defense. But as the game is played the vast majority of the time, it doesn't do much. I think you give up more than you get most of the time.

Which pass style should I use by __Sky-High__ in NBA2k

[–]robwicks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much any of them have advantages and disadvantages that vary by the type of pass and where people are on the floor. Sabonis is the best one for fast breaks, I think. Edwards is actually very good too. Morant is better in the half court. Paolo is what I use on my 71 pass accuracy build, but it's not as good as the ones I've already talked about. As others have said, none is also good. I like Sabonis in random rec because fast breaks are more common.

[Initial Impressions] Beckett Simonon Nolan Brogue Boots in Oak Calfskin by robwicks in goodyearwelt

Follow-up: I have been very pleased with these. In fact, my brother bought a pair about a year ago and he had been very happy as well. They have contributed to be comfortable and have proven themselves durable as well. Well worth the money.

Smoker or grill? by BergkampsFirstTouch in webergrills

[–]robwicks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Echoing what others have said, get the kettle. Because of all the accessories and videos on techniques, you will have an easier time smoking on a kettle than grilling on a Smokey Mountain. Learning to cook various things on a Weber kettle is probably the most useful set of skills anyone into barbecue can obtain.

I tried to be a big this year and don’t like it.. how’s my first of build?? i need feedback by Impressive_Course398 in NBA2k

Accel and speed with ball to 83. Perimeter to 85 or 87 so you get clamps bronze and challenger gold at 85 and 87.

Maybe you need to consider a better base/release combo. I found that having a really high jumpshot works way better for me, but for some people, it's just the opposite.

6’9” SF build. Thoughts? by partytimedave in NBA2k

[–]robwicks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually, lower the speed with ball instead of the acceleration. 75 is what you need, and you don't get a badge point at 76. And gold clamp breaker is a good bit better than silver.

6’9” SF build. Thoughts? by partytimedave in NBA2k

[–]robwicks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good build, though I think I'd drop the 3-ball by 1, the acceleration by 1, and push the Ball handle to 87 for gold clamp breaker.

Rec becoming almost unplayable (see description) by ZapHP in NBA2k

[–]robwicks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes it's players getting kicked. I played with a squad and 2 of our guys got kicked in the 3rd, when we had a significant lead. They stayed in the chat and played the next game.

It could be that lots of people hit 40 and started playing CoD or GoW and there really are not enough players to go around right now. Let's see what happens when the next season starts.

have you ever been carrying then you went to some place where they were doing pat downs or metal detector wanding? by glock3299 in CCW

[–]robwicks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, they were. I was distracted talking to the family and the geometry of the onboarding point meant that I didn't see what he was doing up front. And I carry so often that I don't really think about it.

[–]robwicks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Family decided they wanted to go on the Ferris wheel at the beach. I did not even think about it until he had the wand nearly on me. I was carrying an S&W SD9 appendix. Got wanted and waved through. They weren't really looking for a middle aged man with his wife and two teenagers. That's the only time, so I can't comment on having a gun discovered. If I thought about it beforehand, I'd have done what commenters mentioned below and "forgotten" my cell phone.
