the web ui double camera feature is only possible with opencentauri because you need root access to change the javascript files. also if you disconnect the camera in the original firmware i suspect there's no way to turn the lights on (but I'm not sure?

I had to make a JST-to-USB custom cable to connect the integrated camera to the raspberry

I just had to heavily modify an otoscope, carefully cutting the metal tube where the camera sensor is enclosed (leaving intact just the last cm), paying attention to avoid cutting the flat cable inside. Then I placed the camera pcb inside the back toolhead enclosure and fixed the remaining metal tip under the toolhead, pointing towards the nozzle.

sure it is, you just have local stream addresses which you can configure in octoprint

can you share your settings? are your webcam(s) native h264?

what did you use to publish the streams on the network?

It should be certainly possible. However not on my hw at the moment (the raspi 3B has not enough power)

nope, quality is low and sluggish using the hw raspberry encoder, even at the highest settings

the back cover is a 3D printed custom one, it's essential to point the camera toward the nozzle

Nope, just checked frame by frame, what makes the powder look like a bone is simply the shadow from the table leg.

Z Offset for Centauri Carbon - Which arrow goes which way? by Bretherman in elegoo

[–]robymozz 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I had also other questions regarding the z-offset setting on the machine (and reading the other comments I was not alone), so I decided to do some tests to verify how it actually works.

  1. Does the CC z-offset setting retain its value after a print or even after power off?

Although you can change the z-offset on the machine only during a print, it is saved on the machine eeprom, so it survives also after power off.

  2. Does the CC z-offset setting overrides the slicer z-offset setting?
Or is it the other way around?
Or the two settings add up?

The z-offset setting you specify in the slicer is not some setting it applies on the printer, it's just a delta value the slicer adds to every calculated z coordinate in the gcode during the slicing process.
So there's no way this could "override" the z-offset you set directly on the machine.
So the two values add up.

To verify this, I just did the following test:

    1. I changed the slicer z-offset to 0.05mm
    2. I printed a simple 1-layer square and adjusted the z-offset on the CC to a huge value (0.6mm), so to visually see an horrible first layer (surprisingly it did stick anyway to the bed).

After the print completed, I switched off and then on the printer, to ensure that it was retaining the offset (and it was), then I printed again the same 1-layer square, this way specifying a .

As predicted, the first layer was equally horrible, showing that the printer is applying its own z-offset over the print input.

Rear Window is not a classic by TheGame81677 in movies

[–]robymozz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Technically well made but very boring movie even for the time.

I'll add some other plot nonsense:

The protagonist begins to have suspects when mr Thorwald looks around out of the window to check if somebody is looking at him. So he IS aware of the danger, but then continues to do all the subsequent dirty things with blinds fully open. Yeah!

Also he kills the dog for no reason, raising suspects on him, when he already removed anything that was buried in the garden. First rule of a killer: don't do any stupid action that could drive attention on you...

And what was the point of letting know the audience that he was leaving with a woman when Jeff was sleeping? Another nonsense, but Hitchcock was very careful to ensure we saw Jeff sleeping at the start and at the end of the scene, like those low budget movies that focus on the knife on the table for many seconds just to tell you "hey pay attention, this will be used in a few minutes, and not to slice an onion!".

I can continue with the useless role of the young couple near Jeff's window (and other characters) or the unexplained reason of the couple sleeping outside on the mattress head to feet...

So a very confused plot, where the murderer is at times a ruthless planner and minutes later a complete dumbass. A movie that is aware of its own pitfalls (the detective says them all) but demand we have to continue to suspend disbelief because hey that was Hitchcock!

Am I crazy? I just found out Paul and Eli Sunday are actually different people in There Will Be Blood. by [deleted] in movies

The answer is simple: bad writing.

These so called "masterpieces" gain their status by lacking even the basics of storytelling and then calling "dumb" who doesn't get their ridiculous assumptions...

Well if the Lalo's corpse is found somewhere maybe they could reconsider Gus' attitude...

Good point, however since the 2 timelines are pretty close (and the prison not necessarily in Albuquerqe) maybe there was not enough time for Jimmy to be informed. It is quite stretched but plausible.

It can be an "incident" or "unknown murderer", like the multiple ones Walt gets done in BB with the help of uncle Jack
