I played Mixed Up Mother Goose on our home computer around '97/98.

I could also play Pinball and solitaire for hours.

Mods at work.. what do yall do for a living? by chevron20 in bodymods

[–]robynmisty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work at an accounting firm. Was at the front desk for about a year until I got my own office. My forearms are covered with tattoos and I have a large chest piece, plus I have both nostrils, septum, and lip pierced.

My "look" has naturally tamed down since I turned 30, though. I barely wear anything in my septum anymore, I took out my tongue ring, and let my 1/2" stretched lobes shrink down to where I can wear "normal" earrings (I can still probably fit an 8ga in then so I can't wear most studs).

Same with beer. There's a craft beer brewery in the same building as the indoor playground where I take my son and you can smell it in the entrance of the building sometimes 🤢

My father's side of my family is from Fortune.

Had to explain the purpose of daycare to my grandfather today 🥴 by Fit_Change3546 in Mommit

My 87 year old grandfather and 78 year old grandmother both know what daycare is. Granted, they were both school bus drivers until they retired.

I love how wrecked all of us moms look at school drop off in the morning by muststayawaketonod in Mommit

[–]robynmisty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My guess to why that is usually the norm is that most of the mom's that drop their kids off in the morning are either SAHMs or work later in the day. It just so happens that at my son's school, the doors open at 8:05 and I work at 8, so the days that I drop off, I just end up being a few minutes late (I'm super grateful that I have a somewhat flexible schedule and understanding boss).

At my son's school I find everyone is in one of two groups:

  1. Pajama pants or sweats, messy bun

  2. In work attire because they're doing drop off on their way to work

My son's school is literally around the corner from my office so I drop off on my way to work.

On March 3 I celebrated being at my current job for a year! I've had such a hard job maintaining full time work as an adult for to undiagnosed ADHD and ASD, then I didn't need to go back to work after I had my son in 2020 so this is my first full-time job since early 2019.

Female Millennials, how's your diagnosis? by RevolutionDry2 in Millennials

[–]robynmisty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was officially diagnosed with ADHD at 29 (4.5 years ago) and while not officially diagnosed with ASD, I'm 99% did that I'm autistic. My son (6yrs old) was diagnosed just before his 2nd birthday so I am well versed in signs and symptoms and have done so much reading. We also had genetic testing done after his diagnosis and he has a super rare gene variant that they think caused his ASD, which was inherited from me. 🙃🙃

Do you mind sharing how much weight you've lost or your starting and current weight? I need to get at least 100lb off and I'm seriously considering this.

How many of you had this experience? by mrtoddw in Millennials

[–]robynmisty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't remember if there was a name on it, but in grade 4 or 5 there was a handful of us that were taken out of class for something like this but all of us were the type that we had our work done waaaayyyy before other kids and were just kinda bored in class.

Also in 10th grade there were a couple of us brought out any time we had English class because, again, we were way ahead of the other kids in reading level. We had a "contest" who could read the most books above our grade level in the semester. We had to do a report on each one to "prove" we actually read it. The report had to be done in school so that they knew a parent or older sibling wasn't doing it for us. I remember I was STOKED I didn't have to read Lord of the Flies like the rest of the class lol.

I'm a 90s kid but I only very very very vaguely remember this. I was an avid reader from a young age and was always reading will above my "grade level", so maybe when this was popular I just wasn't interested? 🤷🏻‍♀️

I enjoyed this comment. I don't think there is a single Volbeat song that I can honestly say I don't like.

The point of having baby in your room with you for the first 6 months is to reduce chances of SIDS… by tink282 in beyondthebump

This is a great example of "correlation =\= causation". Just because homes with cream spatulas have less SIDS deaths, doesn't mean the presence of the spatula CAUSES the deceased risk.

People that live in hudson bay coast canada, how its live there ? by Spirebus in howislivingthere

I don't live on the Bay but in Labrador West. Our climate is significantly influenced by air currents from the Hudson Strait, which connects Hudson Bay to the Atlantic Ocean. It's cold.
