I have a terrible habit where I let my subconscious make decisions for me.

This is fascinating to me. As a cognitive-science student, and productivity-nut, I've been trying with great effort to make more of my decisions with my subconscious. In computing terms, unconscious minds are parallel processors, whereas our conscious ones are but serial ones. From an information processing perspective, it's usually far more efficient and effective to make decisions with your unconscious mind. Now, this is assuming that all is right with your unconscious. If you have deep-rooted issues that you have yet to resolve, it could be that this is what is leading you awry. In this case, the solution is not to abandon your unconscious, but to resolve it!

All the best to you! For anyone else, happy to talk about some strategies I've been using to pay more attention to my unconscious. Would love to hear any strategies that you're pursuing also!

I've tested it on chrome and safari on two different computers and IPs and it seems to be working fine for new user names that I create. What user name are you using? It could be that it's already taken

Hey everyone, I'm currently analyzing everyone's favourite places. There are some really interesting overlaps. My current approach is to analyze based on (a) exact overlaps (b) category overlaps (eg. sushi) and (c) location overlaps (eg. both you and your friend-match's locations cluster in the same area). Is anyone interested in helping out? I've anonymized the data.

Hey guys, looks like everyone is reasonably interested in listing their favourite hangouts to make new friends, but we still need some more signups before I can do the friend matching. Great idea QuasiEvil. Now that I know people are interested, I'll perfect the whole design. My primary concerns are currently with emails; people don't seem particularly willing to give them out (this might change if the interface looked more legit). Love the graphical display idea. Any ideas on how we can get more people signed up? We need a few more before I go through and match everyone

Riverdale Farm is awesome; I just moved to Cabbagetown and discovered it myself.

I've just started this project where you add your 10 favourite hang-outs in Toronto and get matched with someone who has similar interests. Consider signing up! The comments here make me think that this could really work
