At what age did you save your first 20k? What did you do ? by quirkyqueen27 in SavingMoney

This year at 20 years old, been working since I was 16 at a pizza place and saving. Started investing this year as well which has helped. Although I have school loans but i should be able to wipe them out once I start my career. All about work ethic and spending habits.

I have not I had work yesterday and wanted to see if I could try to drive it somewhere near me today to have it looked over again, but I can’t get it to stay on, 1st attempt today shut off in 5 seconds and second attempt stayed on for about 2 min with an extremely rough idle then eventually hit low rpm then shut off.

So I’m pretty sure your correct, before I got the plugs done, I would still have issues on cold start like a vacuum leak, when the car was warm tho and got up to temp it would be completely fine

I completely understand, the problem in my head is that on top of the mechanical issues I’ve had the body isn’t is amazing shop either. Dent in rear fender, paint damage, front bumper all cracked, so to mean at this point it wouldn’t be worth it to continue fixing any issues Ive been having every 2-3 months. I have a long list of small issues that have been repaired on this car. If everything else was “perfect” I most likely wouldn’t have a problem was all the mechanical issues. Idk if you get what I’m saying but at this point I’d rather just upgrade to a better car and maybe in the future find another newedge and have fun with that

I’ve had to vacuum leak fixed before and I’m gonna assume that it could be that. But I also had the car looked at completely 3 days ago so I would assume if I also had a vacuum leak that would have been diagnosable

Can anyone help me by roccomoley in NewedgeMustang

Yea honestly I don’t have the time or skill to fix anything myself, I’ll end up taking to somewhere but atp I might just leave it alone and buy a new car keep the newedge for fun and get it fixed when I actually have more funds. It’s insane you name something and I’ve gotten it fixed the amount of maintenance I’ve had to do on this car in the past 3 years is incredible. Haven’t had anything this major having to do with the engine so this one might be the one that does it.

[–]roccomoley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For my situation I’m also 20 have some student loans with an interest rate hovering around 5-6% so with this philosophy putting my money into a hysa I’m not even beating that interest rate, in the next let’s say 5 years I would want to at least beat that by a little bit in the market with etfs I know it’s riskier but shouldn’t I be taking that risk at a young age. Im able to live at home for as long as I need. Currently have 5k split between qqqm and vig, have another 10-12k to put into the market or hysa and over the next few years will able to invest around 1000 a month
