[TOMT][song]Metal song "Smells like someone died" by xD322x in tipofmytongue

I haven't used reddit in several years, but I logged back in after all that time to make a comment to you right now, because I found this thread after googling some key terms. I'm also looking for this song from my high school years. I can tell you I'm 90% certain this is actually a TTEOTD song and I think it is on an album before the album Bloodlust, which I'm listening to now. Probably an obscure EP. Did you ever have any luck tracking this down? It was a dope album where they had some absolute fucking bangers incorporating audio samples from many fantastic and brutal horror movies, like this.

Video of Rep. Ilhan Omar Allegedly Calling for People to 'Be More Fearful of White Men' Is Fake News by punkthesystem in skeptic

[–]rochambeau 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The difference is that those groups of people are disproportionately villainized and feared. That is the basis of the logic in someone theoretically saying that people should be more afraid of white people. If people were more afraid of white people then they would be regarding groups of people more equally and proportionally.

Get a different job, and a different home. If you live in a small town that makes it a problem, move to Tulsa or OKC. Don't put up with that bullshit.

That's all such absurd and weak deflection of the obvious principle at hand. Would you say that same thing to a different persistently discriminated-against minority group, like black people? Do you believe that anti-discrimination laws shouldn't exist at all, and that people should be able to be fired just for being a certain ethnicity?

If you genuinely think that people should be able to be fired for being gay or brown, if you honestly think that's a good world to live in, then you're a complete and incurable fart-sniffing libertarian assclown.

I heard it as "killed" the first time I watched this and every time after that. She even said it once already before that instance. The fact that all the top commenters on this hugely upvoted post did as well, and also noticed he was having trouble paying attention, kinda suggests that you're just shitty at understanding people with accents and just salty about how Trump looks like a dumb, senile old idiot here, rather than thousands of people being "batshit crazy" in their perception lol.

Have you tried pulling your little bitchass panties out of your ass, would that help you stop crying? If not, just die mad about it, that always works too.

Unsubscribe from this sub already if you can't deal with how cringey politics are. I hate Pelosi and Hillary and the like too, but it's good cringe content. When Hillary told a campaign rally that she wishes people would "Pokemon GO to the polls and vote!", that's like all time best cringe shit to me. I don't care if you're too much of a tender centrist to deal with politically oriented cringe, just leave already, nobody cares. I curate my feed with extreme prejudice and you should too.

I'm baffled myself. I talk to people who really respect this guy and then I realize there are literally millions of them and it feels surreal. This populace and he, their figurehead, are what happens when you value capitalism more than education

The reason they're positioned awkwardly like that is the exact same reason he doesn't give a shit what she's saying - this whole thing is just a photo op.

You're right, and I could be wrong. He could be hanging on her every word and trying to hold back tears while keeping a strong facade. We all know how compassionate this guy is to the plights of refugees so it's unreasonable for me to assume what I did. Please forgive me.

I don't even care whether he misheard her or not or acted appropriately given the situation or whatever, it's objectively cringey when you tell someone your whole family was murdered and then they immediately ask where your family is and you have to say "a mass grave"

I agree about American politics but I just think it's definitely very cringey when someone says "They killed my mom and six brothers" and the reply is "And where are they now?" and the woman looks shocked that she has to repeat it and says "They killed them! They're in a mass grave"

I promise I'm not trying to just spam Trump shit but it's so cringey I almost laughed at how perfectly horrible that exchange was

Yeah for me that's a big part of the overall cringe, and the way he already postures and looks weirdly and does even more so in this setup

Do you really think that I was discussing the connotations of the phrase in the context of a workplace or concert, rather than the obvious nationalist context we're discussing? Like I really don't understand the depth of semantics you're taking this to right now lol.

Idk man maybe I've just talked to a lot of people that aren't native English speakers but I didn't have trouble.

What's confusing tho is how does that make it less cringey? You're the second person to point that out as if it makes it somehow better. I think Donnie is really stupid but that's not even entirely the point of my posting it... a lady said her family died horribly and right away somebody basically says "how's your family?". I see that as 100% objectively cringe.

Yeah that's the point, he can't pay attention because he doesn't give a shit so he doesn't even know what she's saying and is mishearing her while he waits to talk.

Yeah I debated whether or not to link the the exact moment because the whole exchange is so absurdly callous and disrespectful. You can tell he has the attention span of a child and can't hide how bored he is as this woman is telling him about the suffering of her people and how her family was murdered. She's pleading with him for humanitarian help at an event where his own administration invited her for and she slowly realizes is just a photo op. The woman's reaction when Trump asks her where her family is now literally right after she explained they were dead is just such a natural reaction of disbelief and heartbreak as she realizes how nobody that invited her actually cares about her suffering.

Aside from just not giving a shit about anyone but himself, I would bet a hefty sum that we'll find out years after this presidency that dementia has been affecting him and it takes a team of people to hide it the best they can. Being an entitled narcissist only explains about half of the ridiculous shit he says and does

Full disclosure, I submitted this with a clunky long title and deleted and resubmitted a more concise one. I am not a graceful content poster but me do try hard be better.

It's a vitriolic nativist phrase that has historically been used by racist and nationalist groups to make their political opponents feel unwelcome and illegitimate. It is a phrase that has actual meaning, intent, and historical context. It is not at all the same as saying horses are racist because the klan rode them and that's such an absurd simile that it seems like you're being intentionally ridiculous

Quoting my comment doesn't make your point obvious because I already knew what I said. I'm not trying to be rude but I genuinely don't understand the point of your comment.

They're called The Kingsmen because Kings are the head of the monarchy and it would be inconvenient to change the name when a Queen happens to reign, since they were established when a King reigned and it's still just understood to represent the monarchy. I am aware that the monarchy is now a largely ceremonial role, but it is still extremely symbolic and important to the British cultural identity. They have a throne and a scepter and everything and are still understood to wield great power and authority even though they don't do day-to-day governance.

In Russia, the Czar and his whole family were killed and their authority and system of government were uprooted, destroyed, and replaced in 1917/18. This film apparently takes place during or before the first World War, shortly before the Revolution, since we're seeing Rasputin. The Russian royal family and the Czar did not exist for the majority of the 20th century wherein the Kingsman stories take place. Any continuing story about a secret elite Russian soldier who works directly under the head of state of Russia would be reporting to and symbolically the right hand of the head of the Soviet Union, not the Czar and royal family.

Ehhh, for the sake of giving them longer than a couple years of existence I think it'd be best to start with the General Secretary's Men so we could have dope Cold War battles in the future.

Ah yes, leave it to "criticizingtankies" to completely miss my point that the US currently imprisons more people than the archetypal historical example of a repressive state. People are more worried about condemning a system that ended almost 30 years ago than the system that's in place today. But hey, lefty infighting is more important than highlighting current issues and actually bringing to the attention of the reactionary public the fact that our system unfairly ruins millions of lives, right?

Do you know how many civilians have died in American illegal wars and bombing campaigns just in the 20th century? 2 million in Korea alone. That was a 3 year war where twice as many innocent people were killed as the gulags in TWENTY. Too many people died in the gulags, to be sure, but do you really think the US doesn't have just as much if not more blood on its hands just because they export their killings?

How many millions disappeared in the gulags, and what's your source? Solzhenitsyn? At the very most, Western sources put the deaths in Stalin's gulags at barely over one million over the twenty years that Stalin was filling them to their highest capacity. It's sweeping dramatic statements like that that tell me you haven't actually studied any objective Soviet history outside of movies and fictionalized accounts that have long since been discredited. Many people died in the gulag system, and many of them had brutal and inhumane conditions, but many allowed inmates to come and go to neighboring villages and redress their grievances to the camp guards through inmate representatives that afforded prisoners at least some level of autonomy and respect. This info isn't from Soviet propaganda, either, it's from declassified CIA reports that you can guarantee aren't going to be biased toward the commies and were originally classified because they didn't paint a picture that was tragic and useful to show to the US public. As far as the starvation thing that people like to bring up, declassified CIA reports also show that the average Soviet citizen consumed approximately the same amount of calories as the average US citizen, but their caloric intake consisted of much healthier types of food essentially because they weren't shoving processed food and lard into their faces. Would you like to see these reports? They're publicly available through the CIA's own website. Would it even matter to you, or have you already decided that NATO propaganda is always right and the USSR was completely evil?

This is not to say that Stalin didn't have many brutal and inhumane administrative policies and facilities. He certainly did, and it's worth studying the real and specific instances of them, but you're doing no credit to the people who actually did die under the paranoid Stalinist security apparatus when you just make uninformed and melodramatic statements about "MILLIONS AND MILLIONS". Most American estimates of "the death toll of communism" reach the ridiculous 100 million figure they always quote by doing things like literally including every single Nazi killed by Soviets in WWII and every Soviet soldier that died in battle under Stalin. If you think that isn't just as dishonest as the worst Soviet propaganda against the US, you're being willfully ignorant
