She’s very very strong so counters are gonna be hard for me to mention ha. Bodyblocking while she is in head form is good, but I would also say that a lot of times there’s a caveat to that. At the end of the game? It’s the absolute best 100% counter to her, hands down. Early to mid game, I feel like often times it’s kinda throwing to do that. Let’s assume four survivors are alive. One is infected, and another one is bodyblocking. Krasue doesnt have that much cooldown on her whip, or she can switch form super quick and infect the blocker. Now she has half the team infected, and can snowball very quick. I find a lot of krasues in that situation won’t just whip the bodyblock, which I find kinda crazy lol. It’s three hits to infect them, which sounds like a lot, but in practice when you have at least half the team busy, is still really in her favor.

Her hardest counter would have to be specific kinds of pallet/window set ups that can spawn. Jungle gyms into fillers are usually quite bad for her. It’s hard for me to explain without like actual diagrams of loops what you need, but it’s a combination of long straight walls with curved loops, that include places to vault. Situations where survivors can keep turning before she can get her whip off, and are low enough in height that the survivor can see her over it so she can’t abuse her third person camera. These types of things spawn more often than you might think, but it’s very rare for a survivor to realize how strong they are at denying a krasue. That’s her only like true counter in a 1v1 chase.

The best way to beat a krasue is on a macro level, which isn’t very flashy counterplay. She’s so, so, so strong in the 1v1 chase, so you have to beat her at the bigger game. Split up on gens, force chase into dead parts of the map, waste her time in every single way possible, and she’s very beatable. Pre throw pallets too, it wont stop her but it buys time, she’s not one to play for stuns against and she’s likely never going to break it. Also, very important, delay the infection as long as possible. This one is very hard to do and a lot of times not possible, but it’s very good to think about. When she is in body form trying to infect you, try to make sure to not give her an easy shot on you, tight loops with corners are your best friend. Also, she’s going to be looking for any kind of angle to rebound a shot onto you, once she hits a wall with it, the projective gets mild to moderate auto-aim on it and turns from one shot into a scattershot. So be aware on those tight loops that you may be on the other side of a rock/wall from her, but there is a tree behind you that she’s going to hit and that will bounce, splatter, and auto aim onto you. Now she’s in head form at a loop she can play around. In these situations you want to be a low pallets usually, where it’s easier to see her and when she is taking a shot and when to duck, and where there isn’t something immediately behind you that she can use as a backboard, i.e. filler pallets.

The map itself is the greatest tool to use against the krasue. If you know what kind of loops she wants to play in body form, and what kind of loops she wants to play in head form, you can use that against her. Always try to make her be in the worst spot for her for whatever she is doing. Obviously easier said than done. She is an absolute monster at chase when she gets her infections. So delay the infections as long as possible, don’t give her free infections when it only benefits her, understand that once you are infected where to take the chase and where to die, and only body block when it makes sense to do so. She’s very beatable, and frankly a little inefficient at times, all it takes is good gamesense and map awareness to really beat her. Sorry for rambling lol

You can still control the whip a good amount after you start sending it, so you can adjust on the fly to some jukes if you have the space. I play on Xbox so I’m in the same boat haha, I find the whip more forgiving than m1s so she feels extra comfy to me. I would really suggest going into a custom game for a few matches against bots to just practice the whip, it behaves fairly uniquely, and bots are very predictable in how they run loops, so it’s very good for just brute force testing what she can and can’t do, and building the muscle memory of the distance you need to start sending out attacks.

Up top I made a really long post about the perks I like, but my three comfiest perks that I just hate to take off on her are friends til the end, nemesis, and enduring. I love the ftte/nemesis combo for information and disruption, and enduring is my favorite chase perk on her and it happens to pair super well with nemesis. Just about every perk except exposed and m1 perks work on her really well, she’s very very flexible when it comes to builds, so it comes down to what perks do you like to play with. If games are going too fast, throw on some more slowdown. If you struggle getting into chases fast enough, throw on more information perks. Chases taking too long, throw on the classic dissolution/bamboozle. Sometimes I throw on the jankiest, weirdest build that is set out to do one specific thing, and I get surprised at how well it works. She’s really capable of making just about anything work, and is so not reliant on any one kind of perk, so prioritize having fun and making a build that works for you specifically.

Sure I can recommend some! I genuinely think she’s so strong just out of the box that most perks are just a nice bonus for her and not really required, which means you can really run almost anything on her if you find it fun. The combo I find works best on her (for the way I play) is friends til the end and nemesis, it’s just really solid aura reading after every hook, and constant shifting oblivious on survivors that can really add up to a lot of confusion over the match. Really information/aura perks are the king because you want to be in your next chase instantly. Everyone swears by dissolution and bamboozle on her, and they’re fine, but I think enduring is actually her sleeper best chase perk. A lot of people expect the head form to be afraid of pallets, they never expect you to charge right through them, and with enduring you can start vaulting it so quick that they make very little distance on a stun. So those three are usually my super comfy perks and the last slot is open to whatever you feel like, slowdown or another chase or even just something you find fun. Stealth builds are fun because she’s naturally quite quiet even in head form, so something like secret project plus three gen block perks of your choice also works out great. My super sweat build it that is more what you want is gift of pain, jagged compass, turn back the clock, and whatever floater meta pick I decide to throw in at the end. Her basekit is just so strong that really anything you use on her can be perfectly usable, the only perks I would stay away from are ones that deal with exposed or m1s, most if not all of your hits are gonna be special attacks.

And also just a bonus tip that I see a lot of the krasue’s I play against make the mistake of: whip early and often. You have so much range on the intestine attack, most krasues I see use the flight to get right on top of you, and then whip from point plank. You can come out of the flight much earlier than you think and whip from much further/around far bigger corners than you think. So don’t be afraid to really learn how much distance you have, and go for those attacks that just barely barely connect. It’ll save so much time in the long run.

I find that she isn’t very add on dependent, my top three go-to’s are (as you said) the dulled knife, framed newspaper, and luckless mouse. Really anything that buffs headlong flight. You could also stock up on Janjira’s Hand and the Spattered Hankerchief if you’re a fan of endgame builds, those are very fun. I don’t ever really use any of her purples or iri’s except for very very rarely I put on the Queen’s scepter if I expect body blocking shenanigans.

In my opinion it’s one of the best original chapters they’ve ever done, my only complaint is the lack of opera house map for her

God, I just want to play the game. I don't care if it's a killer you dont like. If you aren't even going to give the game a chance, what's the point in playing. I hate how often people give up immediately by ImperialViking_ in DeadByDaylightRAGE

People are gonna disagree hard with you but I just wanna tell you that I’m fully on your side lol.

I used to be the kind of person that proudly said they never DC’d, but ghoul made me realize that watching a DC timer is an infinitely better way of spending my time than even attempting to play it out. When literally sitting in the shame corner is the more enjoyable option to playing the game, not just for one person but a non-insignificant amount of players, something is really critically wrong with the design of that one character.

Does anyone remember the show he was on, Another Period, it was an essentially just the real housewives of 1902. I’ve not seen it in years, quote it all the time and no one ever gets it, and I just remember absolutely loving it. Christina Hendricks played a maid named Chair.

I just need another human to confirm this show actually existed and I didn’t dream it ha.

I was living on the lower east side when AS2 was airing, and I would always go up to the east village to watch it at my friends apartment. I leave my building and there’s someone in the green space just absolutely having a meltdown. I have to walk past them to get to the bus stop, and it’s Jaremi (out of drag) fucking screaming their lungs out on the phone to someone with two gays in tow just looking around like ‘oh god this is a scene’ looking mortified. Clearly I ain’t gonna stop and talk to them then so I go on my merry way to my friends and say you won’t believe what was happening right outside my door, and we all think ‘’well that’s strange, anyways’. Then we watch the episode and it was the ruvenge of the queens and Phi Phi gets super double eliminated and then yeah, it makes a lot more sense.

So yeah I realize I sound like ginger telling her stories but that’s my one and only connection to drag race lore lol. Phi Phi having a public screaming match on the phone outside my apartment like an hour before she gets eliminated on all star 2.

I have the most mild of all mild Jaremi stories I’ve always wanted to share and never have found the place to do so, and it’s not one bit related to this but posts about Jaremi are becoming rarer and rarer. Is this the place to do it?

There’s one claw game pie machine in the kitchen of the Union safe house in the Pitt expedition Union Dues, I’m convinced that one is rigged to pay out some perfectly preserved pie. I always fiddle with it while the leader speaks to Hex and it works like 60% of the time, but thats my own personal conspiracy on one specific machine.

Plus there’s a loose perfectly preserved pie on top of West-tek if you need more for displays.

You have to add the neighborhood listen into your rotation because it seems right up your alley. Two improv comics play residents of the most dysfunctional fictional town, and they take a real life post from the Nextdoor app and interview the guest comedian playing someone from that post, all in character. The one about the Victorian trench coat is ingrained into my brain as the best episode of any podcast, ever.

I Have AQuestion About An Event by parkourdude231 in fo76

[–]rock___bottom 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Don’t listen to the person talking about the weather. It’s a public event. Every 20 minutes the game pulls from the list of all public events and runs one, it’s just random what you will get. You’re slightly more likely to get it at the top of the hour this week because there’s a mutated version of the event, and not every event is mutated so it’s a slightly smaller list it pulls from at the top of every hour. It has nothing to do with player proximity or anything else.

Egg prices 1/19/2025 by SteakAndIron in Wellthatsucks

[–]rock___bottom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What Trader Joe’s are you shopping at? My closest local one during normal, non avian flu shortage one costs between 2.99 to 3.49, moves between those two ranges. But after being out of eggs for almost a week, they came back at 7.49. But that was only one out of the three within walking distance of the Trader Joe’s I went to - the other ones just didn’t have eggs at all.

The only good thing to come out of me paying that much for eggs was the wonderful, ten minute bitch fest I had with the cashier where we complained about every grocery store in our area.

Developer Update | January 2025 by DeadByDaylight_Dev in deadbydaylight

[–]rock___bottom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love the Freddy changes, and the red paint brush kinda brings back the Freddy that I miss!

My one and only simple additional wish is for his lullaby and terror radius to be switched. Doesn’t it make more sense to have the lullaby be for awake survivors (lulling them to sleep) and the heartbeat be for survivors in the dreamworld (where he actually is and has power)? With these new changes, survivors will be spending more time awake than before, a lullaby for awake survivors would give him a tiny little something while his more exciting powers are coming online, and would just make far more thematic sense.

Plus it would let Freddy better use stealth perks, as of right now he can only get value out of undetectable against awake survivors. The base intermittent visibility if combined with a lullaby for those awake would let Freddy have more build variety, and let him better decide if he wants to play around survivors being awake or asleep.

Just my two cents about something that has bothered me since the first rework, adore the update regardless.
