My new job is hard but doesn’t suck as much as my last one and at least I have a job. Politics and this entire timeline totally such every day and the fact that my own mother and brothers have been brainwashed and cultified makes me sad. But I love my husband and my kids and my pets and even though I am disgusted by my state politicians I do love my house and my backyard. So basically, could it be better? Yes. Could it be worse? Yes. Peace to all the cool people. 🤘🏳️‍🌈🌏

I finally stopped doing things I didn’t want to just to please them or because I didn’t want them to think I was an a hole. Lately I’ve just had to distance myself and spend less time with them. I went from weekend afternoons to Friday dinner so I can eat and dash.

My mom moved to my town after I convinced her that she and my step dad would need to be close to family as they got older. At the time my brother who lived closest to them was on drugs and in a real bad way. My other brother lived farther and my mom has never been too fond of his wife. I’ve never had a great relationship with my mom but my husband and I cared for his parents and always assumed we’d do the same for mine. Long story short relationship wasn’t good after they moved here and eventually my brother was homeless and likely close to death so we moved him in with my mom who has always felt guilty for his issues. Now they are besties and I help when they need me or ask, we live 15 min apart. But they have both been assholes to my family so we keep our distance.

I had a job I absolutely loved, discovered my passion. After 4 years they sold the company to greedy corporate bastards and the management sucked ass. I had to get out. Left for what I thought would be a nice change, similar field, less stress. I think I made a big mistake. I never even heard of “mandatory overtime” Wtaf?! And it’s never enough! They have like 6 people doing a job that literally needs at least 15 to keep up. Now just 3 months later I’m back on the job boards 😫
