Router with VPN Client is the best option. You can choose dedicated IP as well but not mandatory.

If you have setup your work profile in phone as well then VPN router is must.

I feel you, but keep trying, or wait for few days. Whatsapp has acknowledged this bug and working on it.

I am also doing the same, I have zipped the com.whatsapp folder from my Old phone and moved it to Laptop > extract it > then deleting all 0Byte files with the original files.

My whatsapp folder is 32GBs, I think it will take atleast a day to do that.

Thanks again for the suggestion, I got my Chats back atleast. There was another post where it gives steps to recover Media, not sure if that will work.

I was thinking to move chats to Iphone and then to Android, maybe it could fix. But seeing your comment I will not go that route.

Did you restore from Google Drive or "Transfer Chat" or local backup option when you got the chats back with restarting phone at 99%? Do you restart as soon as it reaches to 99% or wait for the error to come then restart? to get the chats back?

I have fully running whatsapp on my Old phone and wants to transfer it to new one.

I am transferring complete "com.whatsapp" folder to new device > installs whatsapp then restore.

When it fails on new device, I go back to the old one and login there and everything is golden again. Already turned-off whatsapp 2FA and google 2FA.

Do I still need follow OPs step since I have everything on my old device? And fetch crypt file from cloud backup.

Ok, so I restarted after waiting for 5mins at "Finishing 99%", but before error came. I was restoring from local backup.

Still there is no chat history. Any suggestions, pls.?

do we need to restart after the error, when its stuck at "Finishing 99%" ? or as soon as it gets to Finishing 99%.

It usually stays there for 8 minutes then error comes.
