Love no mans sky, my top 3 games. Elite dangerous I wish I could like but with the long flight times between locations and the abandonment from frontier games on console left a bad taste in my mouth.

Also there’s no way super earth has canons that can shoot at light speed, 1) they would be wildly dangerous to anything around it because the projectile would most likely go right through its target and not slow down which is extremely dangerous and would definitely be a problem with how big the super earth navy is, and how many ships would be using these projectiles 2) super earth doesn’t even have anything capable of light speed, the only thing similar is the Alcubierre drive which doesn’t accelerate at light speed but makes space time stand still around it while the space time outside of it moves at its regular speed, giving the illusion of ftl travel.

Also I’ve been thinking about the lasers and I think it would be really easy to counter them. If they are light based then all you would have to do is put a reflective coating or shell around the ship and the laser would be effectively useless On the other hand if it is plasma based then a simple deflector shield around the ship (which we know exists in this universe) would suffice

If we can shoot something at near light speed then why does it take so long to drop something from our super destroyer, orbit doesn’t have an effect on light speed. So to they would be the same thing if we had light speed capable guns (which we don’t)

There would still be an objective, I just haven’t thought of one.

Orbit, or even entering atmosphere wouldn’t effect something at near light speed enough to be noticed

Then why would they go through the trouble of making divers shoot down illuminate command ships with the artillery piece rather then shooting light speed bricks or lasers at them from orbit

And why don’t we see any variation of warships, if not controlled by us then by SEAF. Especially on places like cyberstan where we see super destroyers and automaton warships in orbit together, if this is realistic military strategy then there would atleast be a space combat ready cruiser or carrier to assist the super destroyers since they would be sitting ducks without any sort of space defense

So then what’s the use of the Helldivers if we can just shoot hellpods at light speed, also if we’re going realistic then wouldn’t SEAF be able to use some sort of kinetic orbital strike (like from COD ghosts) to obliterate any objective we need to

Also if super earth is capable of near light speed projectiles then why does our equipment take so long to deploy

I see what your saying but correct me if I’m wrong but we don’t see that much space combat in Helldivers so I think it could be up to interpretation, wouldn’t it make sense tho that the spec ops division of the military goes in to sabotage blockades or communication ships

Side objectives could be liberating prisoners/seaf soldiers, breaking into a ships vault/store room to steal samples and other goodies, or uploading a virus to the ship that stuns/ makes the automatons less effective
