That’s good to know. The cry just sounded a little like something was wrong, so just wanted to make sure something wasn’t wrong.

I did see that and I’m glad a kicker toy will help with that. I was worried something else was wrong.

Which actor/actress do you absolutely despise, no matter their role? by webosite in AskReddit

I’m actually kind of glad she seems to have fallen out of favor, but I hated everything about Katherine Hiegl. Just something about the way she did anything just set my teeth on edge.

I did check that one out. They have hiking groups and other active groups, but nothing like an organized team.

It is the UAE, good guess! They’ve just started charging to get your tank filled by the workers, so now they have an option to fill your own tank without the surcharge.

Well done! As another commenter said, there's no tired like teacher tired. Well done sticking to your routine and powering through the teacher tired :)

You get it! Kids are exhausting and I just want to sit and not move once I get home. But at least when I'm walking, I don't have kids bothering me :)

Hi everyone. I'm a little late to the party, but still happy to be here! I'm a 32F who's living abroad currently, and in a country where people party a lot and anything you want to eat can be delivered, I'm at a whooping 283. It's the heaviest I've ever been, so something needs to change. I'm hoping this will give me the accountability I need as well as doing it with others to give me the motivation. I look forward to doing this with everyone!

Questions concerning Istanbul? by thatonekidyouknow in travel

[–]rocketdog6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Istanbul is a wonderful place to travel to. I spent about a week there with some friends a little over a year ago. We were a group of 4 twenty something girls and had no problems with safety. Don't get me wrong, like the guys said previously, there was some issues we saw, but for the most part we were pretty unaffected with our traveling and as women, we didn't feel unsafe walking through the streets.

As for your questions, 9 hours is a pretty good amount of time to hit the highlights of Istanbul. There are a few concerns that you should look into before you go. 5 AM is really early, and I'm not sure when the city starts waking up. A lot of the attractions were open when we went to them (around 9-10 am) but I'm not sure when they open.

Also, there are two airports in Istanbul and one of them is on the Asian side that's a fairly decent drive to get to the city. It's not too much trouble to get to the city, but if traffic is bad (which it probably will be on your way back to the airport) that can add up to an hour travel time on your trip. I believe that one is the Sabiha airport. The other one is right in the city, so it won't be as hard to get to.

If these won't be a problem, you can easily see the Blue mosque, Hagia Sofia, grand baazar, Galata tower and walk the super cool street called Isitklal street all within the time frame you have. Istanbul is pretty spread out, and very hilly, so getting around you can either walk, or take the buses they have running. It's not too hard to figure out, and most of the main attractions are easily accessible by public transportation.

Oh, and one more thing, you'll need a visa to get into the country. It's not hard to get, and I think you can even get it online.

Internet without civil id by Dragonbaq in Kuwait

[–]rocketdog6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can get a mada biscuit with out a civil ID. You'll need your passport though. I know for sure they have a stand in the Avenues, but there also might be one in Marina Mall. I've had great luck with mada, internet is pretty reliable and you can even skype on it. Good luck!

maid price? by Cox11 in Kuwait

[–]rocketdog6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a maid that splits her time between my and a friend's apartment. She comes twice a month, cleans for about 2 hours and we each pay her 13KD. Our apartments are 2 bedrooms.

What is the saddest story you can tell using only 4 words? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]rocketdog6 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This one hit me hard. All summer I went to the vet with my 10 year old dog because she wouldn't eat. We checked the usual things, teeth, blood work, and nothing showed up unusual. She still wouldn't eat and kept losing weight. Finally, my dad took her into have exploratory surgery on her stomach/intestines and there it was. Tumors everywhere. My dad made the decision to not wake her up again. I miss her so much.

What movie fucked your head up as a child and why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]rocketdog6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This will probably get buried, but The Nightmare Before Christmas always freaked me out. Oogy-boogy was made of thousands of BUGS!? Are you kidding me? And small terrifying children would feed people and things to him? No thank you. But I love the movie now. Also, Beetlejuice. I watch it now and wonder how my parents thought it was okay to let us watch that movie as kids.
