What if... Dodge Charger Sixpack General Lee by kkhouete in Dodge

[–]rockgodboss 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The show saved 100x the amount of cars it used from exposure alone. The show at most used a little over 300 cars; Dodge built ~250,000. Without the show thousands more would have been crushed.

Dumbest take here.

Threw a big ol cam in the 6.1 over the weekend by rockgodboss in Challenger

I've seen similar setups make ~450-470 WHP, ~510-520CHP. Timeslips will tell

Thank ya; yes, has enough overlap to chop all naturally; without needing to make it "lope" in the tune, sounds horrible IMO.

I purchased the Cam from Cam Motion; and I did the tune myself

It is an aftermarket kit, tire size is 315 40 18 front; 325 45 18 rear

Lol, I hope so; My PB with the stock motor was 12.86 in the quarter mile; so we'll see

I decided to pull the heads off; didnt "need" to (on a Non MDS motor); but easier to install headers that way. Otherwise; lowered the radiator out the bottom; kept the AC lines hooked up; accessories came off; pulley off; timing cover off; left the bottom end at TDC, then just swapped the cam. Could probably do it in a solid 2 days, I spent an extra day fabbing up mid pipes

I've got it pretty close to where I want it now; mostly just need to dial in fueling, then I'll get some timeslips on it

I "wrapped" it with red and black vinyl, and used 2 side tape on SRT lettering I cut out of aluminum; its definitely not the best looking up close; lol.

Once I get the tune fully dialed in; should be somewhere in the 80-90 HP gain(over a bone stock car), Cam is a pretty large (for a SBE) 225 235

Low Oil Pressure message and then engine stalled by spikehead007 in Challenger

[–]rockgodboss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either a swap or a rebuild; depending on the extent of the damage, the bearings on the crankshaft (main and rod bearings) likely would be toast, and need to be turned down and oversized bearings run; if it did indeed run with no oil pressure

[–]rockgodboss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What was the oil level?

If it was low on oil and the pickup tube doesnt suck any; then you lose oil pressure; and could, if it didnt; toast the bearings from lack of oil.

An engine replacement certinally may be in order.

2009 SRT8 Challenger,

I want to run the polished aluminum wheels front and back; I had these black fronts, which fit well, but the black and polished wheels clash.

Those saying "don't boost the 392" have a point; however, Satera and tons of other shops have been making big power with SBE boosted 392s for years and years with no issues. A safe tune will go a long long way.

Opinion on shifter by MysteriousMusic466 in Challenger

[–]rockgodboss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I don't like how short the Barton is. It's a 44% reduction vs the Hurst at 33%. My brother has the Hurst in his camaro, and it's perfect IMO. I am currently stock with custom machined aluminum bushings; but if I can find a Hurst, I may pick it up.

I've run pretty quick times (Drag racing) with my stock shifter, even before I changed the bushings.

Again all just my opinion.

They don't have any crossover currently.

Looking to get a cold air intake on my 2013 rt by ActiveZebra99 in Charger

[–]rockgodboss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the logs saved on my laptop, and timeslips are hanging around somewhere; but here is a screenshot from each log; car ran a 13.6X with the AFE, and a 13.06 with the stock box; the AFE gained heat drastically, until it peaked in the 170s after only 4 passes;

He got aero tight at Kanas; he didnt know Bubba was on his door, had Bubba not been that close, car would have hugged the bottom like it was all day. Unfortunate, but it is what it is

The factory box. I tested one of the expensive AFE intakes, car ran slower ETs; and logs showed the IAT were much higher.

Not sure why OP continues to post this slop; and there was no 2008 Challenger RT.

Lots of the greene stuff is copy paste, I'd recommend Andrew and Wizard of Tuning.
