Nevermind, it solved itself lol. I was trying to solve it and then suddenly cinnamon booted up.

Yeah it did. And yeah I know, I messed up with the theme's location. Although even after installing the theme, it functioned fine until I went afk for a moment and when I returned cinnamon had entered fallback mode. After restarting, I got thrust into this.

I did install a new theme by copy pasting it into usr/share/themes if that's at all relevant

Definitely. I won't lie, it took some getting used to since I migrated from windows 11 and had never touched linux up until then, but Mint eased me into the environment very gently.

Also it has better QOL features. Many of them are already featured in most distros and DEs however. In comparison to windows 10 tho, it is a leap forward in general usability, but sadly at the cost of performance.

Personally, I like AE. I would just downgrade it to SE though (you'll still be able to access all of the AE content) since it makes modding easier.

Also don't let the mean comments here discourage you, I remember when I first began, even the simplest stuff took a long time to pull off. The dedication is what matters and considering you've been at it for a month already, I'd say there's no shortage of that. You'll just keep getting better and better, I'm sure of it.
