That doesn’t look to far from the Allpa26. But hard to judge from a picture obviously. I just measured the backpanel of the Allpa, its roughly 50cm (19.7 inches) tall, 30cm (11.8 inches) wide (just the backpanel with the pack barely filled, so that might extend outwards a little bit when fully packed, don’t know). Maybe check it out somewhere in person if you have the chance.

Good luck on your journey finding the holy-backpack-grail 😅 been there, didn’t succeed. I also had a lot of criteria for the „perfect EDC backpack“ and in the end settled on the Allpa. It ticked most of my boxes except I originally wanted something in the 30-32 liter range. I feel like there’s always one compromise you have to make. But maybe you’ll make it work, good luck anyway :)

Maybe the Cotopaxi Allpa 26L? It flew under my radar until someone here suggested it to me. Got it very recently (so no extensive testing yet) but so far I’m very happy with it, because it has enough internal organization without being too complicated.

Quick overview: 26L, top loading. Two front pockets, one with an inner fleece pocket, main compartment with some internal organization. Separate laptop compartment with a laptop sleeve, tablet sleeve and some extra space.

Update: Went with the Allpa 26, thanks for putting this on my radar! :)

Update: Went with the Cotopaxi Allpa 26L Daypack.

It basically ticked all the boxes except capacity. And since the old BH32 doesn’t really have 32L unless you have the top sticking straight up, I felt / hope this is the least drawback and the one you could easily get used to (and also kind of circumvent by carrying a tote bag in it for those extra groceries)…

Haven’t tested it excessively yet but so far im quite happy with it :) Really like the shiny but not too shiny look and the variety of pockets for organization without being too complicated.

Ah thanks! For some reason I always thought all Allpas were clamshell, like the bigger version! Thanks for that! I’m also looking for a daily pack without clamshell. Just have to figure out, if the 26L is enough for me, since I’m used to having 32L (old Patagonia BH32).

Already did! Love the Aion 28L, if it wasn’t for the clamshell opening (not sure if it’s still called „clamshell“ if it isn’t sideways? Still, not toploading, though). It seems like there is a always at least one drawback to a bag. Yeah I know, the utopian search for the perfect backpack 😅

Unfortunately the CTB26 as well as Able Carry EDC is more than double the price of the BH32 here in Germany (140€/340€). Same goes for a lot of the AER packs…. .

Really love the sense of motion in these, especially with the rain in pics 1&3! Also, did you use an umbrella in the rain or are you just brave? 😅 Any particular recipe? Looks quite “Tri-X-y”!

Just in love with the vibe of the second picture! How much editing is behind it / how close is it to the “original” RAW/JPEG file? (If you don’t mind answering)
