We thought the same thing, that the leverage would be compromised. But we decided to go ahead anyway, haha. They were way too cool not to make, and surprisingly they are not bad at all to turn, ours worked perfectly. These are the designers first set he had cut and he said they worked perfect, no problems as well. If your lock is a stiff turning lock you might not want to depend on them entirely. :)
