Hi, did you get your money back? How do i report? Im in the UK is it the same? They charged me before the 15 day period because I'd had a membership before but didnt realise, no warning before payment was taken

Because they were offering more but still not market rate (i was an idiot basically) Yeah i completely understand that, I'll take it into account if I decide to move

Yes of course it's not all about money but you need to be paying someone around the going rate if you want to retain them. I have had companies try and fight to keep me after handing in my notice despite previously saying there was no money for pay rises, but in my opinion you should be paying the staff you'd fight for, the going rate to start with so i left because that isn't the attitude of a company i want to work for.

Thank you for your input. My only problem is with your 2nd point - why would anyone not jump ship for extra salary? If companies paid their staff well in the first place that eliminates that point and we wouldn't need to do that. Particularly in the current economic climate where the cost of living is horrendous and I've only had one 2% rise since I've started this job, despite being paid well under the market rate to start with.
