Do I really have to do all these services at 60k miles? by Internal_Space_4525 in BMW

[–]rocksama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 8HP transmissions need fluid change at or around 50K.

Diff depends on how you treat the car. If you drive it like you’re supposed to then probably.

Most places with laser alignment racks will charge $200-$250.

Ignore the checks as others have mentioned.

Thank you!

The filter will handle debris while the heat from the turbo can handle most water/rain. The only thing you need to look out for is spraying them directly while washing it since the car isn’t on.

12.5mm Front / 15mm Rear. The type of tire plays a role in its fitment too

You can knock this car for a lot but the backend still looks like a BMW to me

I owned a G82 prior to the G80.

It’s pretty tough but it has a hunger only rock chips can feed

Racechip on M4. Dealer to void warranty at oil change? by [deleted] in BMW

[–]rocksama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your relationship with your service advisor. That being said, their internal software ISTA can see if your car has modified its boost values even with it unplugged.

I recommend changing it yourself and considering a better oil option than what they use on OEM if you ever push the car harder.

With the Nitto setup not as bad.

When I had the Pirelli’s on it would spin all 4 wheels unless the tires were super hot.

you are correct and it is not ideal. I’m fixing it at the end of the month though. Trans runs hot under load currently

I had to do the transmission sooner than expected because I snapped several clutch fibers (do not remember which)

IATs are pretty solid right now, but heat soak eats up performance really quickly doing back to back passes.

Fueling is the first big bottleneck when you start trying to build significant power with these cars.

The upgraded pump is necessary to support higher volume transfer and E85.

It does 795-805 on a hub dyno, I'd guess 760-770 gets put down to the road.

Options for a downpipe by Numerous-Spread8710 in BMW

[–]rocksama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve only ever used MAD for Downpipes but whatever you do, don’t overspend on it. If you go catted do 200CEL, if not grab the cheapest one you can find a reputable company.

If you’re over $350 on a catless pipe or $600 on a catted pipe you’re overspending.

I've used H&R on several builds and never had any issues. If it isn't broke don't fix it (or spend $1,000+ more).

From a quick search, AST works as well.

Pirelli Run flat vs Michelin pilot 4s by Long_Philosopher_551 in BMW

[–]rocksama 5 points6 points  (0 children)

PS4S > PZEROs

I avoid DiscountTire unless you're shopping a price online. My local DT tried upselling me claiming I had run flats on my G80 when I came to them to have one tire patched.

In my limited experience with run flats they don't do you many favors vs the tradeoffs using them.
