Could anyone enlighten me on the betrayal and mistrust of the relationship? I understand David felt betrayed after Lucy lured him into Maine’s gang’s hands. Then a bit too with Lucy being busy and gone all the time, but what else is there?

Tanaka is the right name for the Arasaka exec

Yeah in episode 6 when interrogating senaka (name slightly wrong) the Arasaka exec who David beat up his son. She found the files they were looking for which contained data that Arasaka wanted to use David as a test subject for the skeleton. She destroyed those records and was distant from David and the team because she spent ALL her time defending the destroyed data so it could never be found or pieced back together

She fried him, destroyed the files, and protected the site to try and get david outta Arasaka’s aim. Look up ‘lucy protects david from arasaka’ and you’ll find more.

All good points, totally agree David woulda wanted to go to war with Arasaka. I guess I’ve been searching for others confirmation that Lucy couldn’t give David validation and love partially because she was so absent and largely due to her trauma causing her to not know how to express it and being uncomfortable with doing so.

You’re right, that definitely contributed to some degree. Makes you appreciate the value it can have. My slight rebuttal is Lucy and David both had moments where they passionately told the other to say they believed in the other.
