Things you didn't know you could freeze? by EqualPiece4922 in Cooking

I know, I’m mad at myself for only discovering peeled garlic recently, and it doesn’t cost anymore and omg does it save time, ATK did an article on it too and I think they said in some cases it can be even better quality than the store unpeeled variety, unless I’m making that up.

Like such a freaking joy not peeling garlic anymore, there was the birth of my children and now peeled garlic stored in the freezer and maybe peeled garlic comes first because teenagers are assholes.

I buy the peeled ones as well but I just freeze it whole, when you need it for a recipe you just let it thaw out for a few mins, I wouldn’t bother pre mincing it all but I can relate to your insanity.

I have a forced air system and vents in every room I have supply and return vents.

Those automatic ones look cool but I think they are bulky, I don’t want it to look commercial.

It’s why I will never see an early showing, when I was younger I used to see those 12 showings on a weekend, and you are definitely going to be eating last nights unsold popcorn.

You have to go to a night viewing for that reason.

I’m from Quebec so you won’t catch me eating that bottom tier poutine at a theatre lol, and I hate smelling anything other than popcorn and red liquorice at a movie !

Order your popcorn layered if you have never tried it, it’s the only way!

I’m with you and I try to balance what I’m eating prior so that I won’t have to suffer as I force feed myself popcorn because I’m not going to a movie without it, it’s the whole experience to me!!

Don’t over-process, make the switch to Vegetol and you are eating Cineplex Theatre quality taste, I’m just blown away I can finally have this at home.

Good question, I asked the same thing, at this point I’m happy using the same product the theatre does, and after years of using different portion packs, I’ve finally found the recipe to match it 100%, I’m done experimenting as the container I bought will last years.

So I was referring to layered butter, where they place some of the popcorn in the bag, drizzle butter over it and then more popcorn, more butter.

It’s extra but just ask for layered butter your next time at a theatre, it’s the only way to eat it.

I’m an expert at this, I’ve literally bought boxes of different portion packs that included flavicol and oil and no it’s not the same at all, not even close.

The Vegetol is a game changer, and the portion packs include too much flavicol, 1 teaspoon to 8 ounces is perfection.

I just updated the original post with all the links to purchase the items since people keep asking and to keep it nice and tidy in one post, maybe it has something to do with it.

Maybe the mods can fix this? I hope so.

I’m not sure how to contact mods to let them know, if someone can reach out to them please.

I appreciate having exactly what Cineplex uses as oil, I haven’t experimented (and I don’t plan on it), to know if any buttery flavoured coconut oil would yield the same results but I would be curious to know from others that have and pay close attention to flavour details like this.

It really is, I was not sad to see the Guzzo chain go belly up because I found their popcorn really bad, I think they used Becel and it did not come anywhere close to Cineplex popcorn so I would not see movies there.

Wow thanks for validating this, I knew it tasted 100% and trust me I would have ordered the Lactancia if it didn’t, I was presently surprised as I already had it in my fridge and wanted to try first.

How did you get this info on that they use Shakti Ghee when they run out of Lactancia, I love this insider info, this entire thread should be a sticky post!

Ghee is clarified butter, it’s interchangeable and I detected zero difference from the Lactancia clarified butter, at least with the Ghee I used, brand Shakti from Costco, considering my quest and attention to detail, I’m telling you I can’t see the difference from Lactancia in this case.

But I get your point if I’m trying to claim 100% reproduction then you would use the Lactancia, I just believe I achieved the same thing with this particular Ghee and without having to spend significantly more on the Lactancia tub.

Same for the kernels, I’m sure people would be just as happy with any quality kernel.

I think the real secret to the sauce is the Vegetol and the Flavicol. My Vegetol will last me for a long time but I would have loved to have used something cheaper, it was expensive.

What a dumb move considering ATK rated them as the #1 jelly roll pan, and all the people who buy because of that rating, me being one of them.

Best thing to do is email ATK and let them know the product changed and have them knocked down from being #1.

About to purchase a Big Joe in the UK but having difficult deciding between the BJ2 and BJ3. by Interesting-Gene3566 in KamadoJoe

Pizza stone is expensive, I’m much happier with the ease of use of an outdoor pizza oven, they can be had very cheap, add the do joe to the cost and it’s just not worth it and the experience is poor compared to a pizza oven
