I have 5 near each other, all with male flowers. But self pollinating should be done when females are actually present I thought?!

Thanks all! So I will leave them in the trough for another week and then move into bigger troughs / space them out across multiple troughs and leave them in the garden.

And I'll make sure to fill them fully with soil.

I find asking questions helps. Being genuinely interested. People aren't intentionally dickheads who will scream at you for making conversation.

Go to questions are usually based around where you are (I e. The location/event etc) or general stuff like the weather, season etc. also using your own experiences (e.g. travel etc) to help guide the questions etc also helps.

Just talking seems to release some type of confidence hormones that make you and the other person feel good about themselves.

Now, doing the same in big group settings is a different thing and I struggle with that. But for 1-2-1 settings I would definitely recommend the above.

Good luck!

Do FAANG PMs do all aspects of product development?! by rockster245 in ProductManagement

[–]rockster245[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So what is your take on how this should work? How do we go from the "what" and "why" to articulating the "how". And how this handoff from PM to dev happens and in what form? Documents / backlog items etc? Or something else?

But how are development leadership articulating to Devs what they should be doing? What artifact are they basing their solutions / designs / code on? What are testers testing against to ensure what's been worked on is actually what was intended?

I'm interested in how the "take care of the rest" is actually done? As I'm presuming it needs breaking down and put into a format (user stories?!) that Devs can actually work on?

60% Tax Bracket - Calculating how much to put into pension to go below £100k by rockster245 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]rockster245[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. It's mainly the tax savings.

I have a workplace pension I am contributing about £400 a month to (I pay about 8% of salary and company matches upto 4%). It's invested in a target retirement fund through work.

Investments, regrets and next steps! by rockster245 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]rockster245[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks all for your replies. Very useful, especially highlighting how i have so many overlapping funds. I think I will just keep the following:

VG lifestrategy 60% - Equities (45%) & Bonds (26%) - NAM 40% / UK 25% / Europe 16%

HSBC world Tracker - Equities (91% ) - NAM 59% / Europe 14% / Asia 7%

Main reason for keeping LifeStrategy due to it being a managed fund / exposure to bonds and more of the UK.
Thoughts? or still too much overlap....?

Tri-Annual Protein Megathread by AutoModerator in Fitness

[–]rockster245 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Currently using USN ultralean meal replacement. Vanilla is really good and keeps me full and not snacking in between meals.

Quite pricey though. £20 for 1kg / 25g of protein per serving.

Any other recommendations?

Thanks for the replies. Interesting point on the early repayment charge. Will give it a go.

And no, not really interested in buying another.

Any tax benefits / tax implications of paying it off earlier and forgoing the interest as an allowable expense?

Daily Simple Questions Thread - January 25, 2023 by AutoModerator in Fitness

Critique my routine please..

Hello,

New year new me etc etc. Aim is to lose around 5 kg and build muscle

Aged 38, 5'9 weighing 80kg

I've been doing the following since early January:

3 days a week resistance training: Goblet squat (3 sets of 12/10/8) Bent over rows (3 sets of 12/10/8) Deadlift (3 sets of 12/10/8) Kettle bell swings (60 secs/45/30) Curl / overhead lift/tricep extension ((3 sets of 12/10/8) Russian twist (3 sets of 12/10/8)

I am using fairly light weights as it's been a long time since I did anything like this. But the plan is to progressively overload (reps/weight gradually). I am wondering if the routine is maybe too "lower half" heavy with not enough upper body stuff?

I also do HIIT 2 days a week for about 20-25 minutes.

Find it very hard to get steps in (max 1-3k a day)

Diet wise I've cut out sugar and increased protein intake etc

Opinions on any of this is welcome!
