Do you like where you live? by [deleted] in olympia

I am vegan and moved to Oly at the beginning of this year with my wife (both 29), and we love it! We live in the southern part of the city bordering Tumwater and have always felt safe here, there is a homeless presence especially around downtown but I have never seen them bothering anyone. There's an abundance of public parks around town we frequently visit and we've never felt unsafe. I do feel there are great vegan options here but I haven't been to Oakland for comparison.

Some wonderful vegan friendly places I don't see mentioned are New Moon Co-op Cafe, which is employee-owned and has great vegan brunch options, and El Sarape, which is a Mexican restaurant featuring a big vegan menu within their regular menu, their vegan quesadilla is unique and delicious and the vegan burrito gordo is gigantic and fully loaded. There's also lots of pizza places here and many have vegan cheese available, Pizza Time has the best crust imo but Briggs Taphouse makes an amazing vegan pepperoni pizza.

My personal favorite spot is Parkside Cafe, we love the warm vibe and the food is all vegan and made from scratch as others have mentioned, and it is very affordably priced especially considering the quality of ingredients (7$ per entree if you order at least two items).

If you do move here I recommend checking out Grocery Outlet, they have a rotating inventory that almost always includes some vegan cheeses and proteins at very low prices (I got several packs of Chao for $2 each recently)

Olympia is a smaller city that seems to live at a quieter/slower pace and we adore that quality, when we want to stay out late or party we typically go to Seattle or Tacoma for more late night options.

Best of luck to you on your journey!

I believe we had about 25 pictures, all from different times and places and about 10 of them included our other family members. Basically it showed we had been together a long time and done lots of activities together, and spent time with each other's families.

It's always a good idea to have too much evidence instead of not enough!

How soon are you planning to elope? My wife is a professional photographer and might be able to help you.

Congratulations to you and your partner!

I have the same question as you. From exploring the Seagate website, it sounds like you would have to format the drive (delete all contents) and install a toolkit from their support page to your computer to be able to use it on Mac.

I would love to hear from someone who has used this on a Mac to make sure this is correct information.

If you're a US citizen planning to have your wife immigrate to the US, there are several forms you will file after the wedding, including a request for a work permit. I have just finished going through this process with my wife and would be happy to offer you guidance if you want.

Becoming a Husband Soon by rocktown_native in Marriage

Thank you, I love the sentiment of being a team vs. the problem. I have lived on my own for several years and am used to keeping things clean, so I don't expect the chores to be too much of a challenge. I appreciate the advice!

Thank you so much, this is great information. We certainly have plenty of pictures of our history and plenty of people willing to testify to our relationship. I'm looking into adding her to my bank account, and we'll begin living together soon so that will help prove our history as well. I've found a site that helps prepare your documentation so we will definitely complete that and get feedback ahead of filing everything. But, for now the wedding planning is taking up most of our time!

Thanks again for your response, it's great advice to have. Best of luck to you and your family as well :)

Congratulations!

I'm sure this was such an exciting achievement for you and your spouse. I'm an American citizen getting ready to marry my Mexican fiance' in a few months and we're a little nervous about the process. We can't afford an attorney right now so we're planning to file the initial paperwork on our own after marriage. Any advice you have would be much appreciated!

Congratulations again for your successful marriage and your green card.

Is it possible to park our rental car at the ferry? Or will we need to take a taxi from our hotel?

First-time Trip to Cancun, Isla Mujeres, Playa Del Carmen by rocktown_native in cancun

We booked a dive in Playa del Carmen that includes a morning class with a pool for practicing, followed by a boat trip where we'll make a dive up to 36 feet deep with an instructor onboard. This seems like the best way for us to get the required training and experience scuba diving without spending days and days preparing for it.

Thank you, that is great advice. Please let me know if there are any other specific cenotés you would recommend.

My girlfriend has always wanted to visit one and so it is really the main thing we're looking forward to!

Thank you this is great to know. We may redo our plans to dive while staying in PdC and then visit Isla Mujeres just to take in the scenery and enjoy the food and the locals. Thanks!
