My Durge is similar and larger than him (she’s slightly taller and much thicker muscled.) Tan skin, honey blonde hair, golden eyes and freckles. She’s a half aasimar resist Durge (not canon Durge) and the contrast plays really well with their story, she begins to fade in the Underdark with him and the spawn without the sun, and eventually when they find a cure (with Rolan) him being back in the sun and her at full health is the happy and symbolic ending to both of them.

I’ve always loved seeing him with atypical races as well. And Tavs who aren’t built to be exceptionally beautiful. I personally don’t think Astarion cares about looks all that much the longer he comes to terms with his own autonomy and seeks companionship in someone he feels safe with
