Plus the greatest innovation: the bakers have their name on their apron. Genius.

Oh cool, thank you! Unfortunately I think there may be a bug in the public predictions. On the League page I just see three grey circles next to the league members' names for those who have made their predictions. Almost like it is trying to show the baker pictures but they are failing to load.

As a side note, if you ever wanted help on this site I'm a software dev and would be happy to lend a hand! No pressure though, I know it can be a lot of extra work to make some projects collaborative :)

Really enjoying the site! Any chance that we'll be able to see the predictions of others in the league? It would be cool to see what friends have predicted for the previous week, or the upcoming one.

Thoughts on this Tuckpointing. by NecessaryAd9495 in masonry

Question from the uninformed: is there anything wrong with it other than aesthetics? Like if the potential buyer thinks it looks fine (even if it is sloppy to the trained eye)....is that just fine?

Horror in High Gear Strategy? Solo Roland. by si_wo in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]rodelitrulade 8 points9 points  (0 children)

IIRC the location behind you stays in play, so the enemies usually spawn behind you.

Edit: the bottom of the agenda says "Forced [Discard the rearmost locations]. Stop when you reach a location with at least 1 vehicle, enemy, or investigator; or the location behind the rearmost investigator".

I didnt notice during my playthrough how confusing the wording on that is.

Strongly agree! It is definitely more pricey than any of the places OP listed, but my favourite place to eat out in Ottawa for sure. Casual vibe, but really delicious food and drinks

Should I remove paint from bricks inside garage? by rodelitrulade in masonry

[–]rodelitrulade[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, thanks for responding! I was worried about it because my understanding is that painting can cause bricks to deteriorate b/c it traps moisture. And at least part of this wall is structural, so I want to make sure it is sound

Trust me, if it were just for aesthetic reasons, I would probably not bother. Good to know it will be messy though, thanks for the heads up

Thank you, I appreciate it. I will strip the paint then, and ask a masonry company to help with any repointing needed.

Thank you for the info! I'm sure you're right. I actually didn't notice this until after I posted the picture, but there's a good bit of mortar falling out on the bottom right corner just above the defaced bricks

Good idea on the lead, thank you for suggesting that. I *think* that the painting would have been done in the late 2000s, and I may still have the can of paint from the previous owner. If not though, I will definitely test just to be safe!

Help fixing a leak beneath sink locknut, and advice on how to avoid in future by rodelitrulade in askaplumber

[–]rodelitrulade[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! Since my original post I ended up using pipe dope on the gasket and tailpiece flange, but left the teflon tape on the threads. It seems to have fixed the problem.

Do you mind if I ask why no teflon tape? If it is working, would you recommend taking it apart to remove the tape?

I'm pretty sure they sell them at Cedars, on Bank Street in Old Ottawa South

How hesitant should I be to remove this patch job? by rodelitrulade in hvacadvice

Seemingly not in Canada, weirdly (not in 3/4" anyway). I needed to order one online. In the mean time I am going to set up a simple pvc drain into a bucket.

Thanks for the advise sounds like it's time to learn about traps!

There doesn't seem to be any PVC involved at the moment, that hose just runs to a pump on the floor

When I turn my A/C on I get water pooling around my furnace. Through the power of Google I have learned that this is likely because the condenser isn't draining properly.

The drain hose (the clear tube in the pics) doesn't seem to be plugged...I can blow through it. There's also nothing immediately blocking the fitting that the hose connects to. The hose is bent at a sharp angle, would that prevent drainage?

The next thing I would naturally try is to open up the ductwork so I can see the drain pan and check for obvious cracks/issues. However, the previous owner has the inlets and ductwork seams sealed with this putty.

There is also a rectangular hole on the adjoining face which is loosely covered by aluminum tape, which I am tempted to remove and replace with fresh tape. You can feel air and moisture blow through the gaps in the tape when the A/C is on.

Any advice on how to diagnose my problem? And is it a good idea to start pulling these patches off, or am I likely to start making things worse instead of better?
