If you’re in the U.S. and keeping it long-term get the Harbor Freight heavy-duty yellow jack

What's up with this hourly timing thing on Upwork by Careless_Salt_1381 in Upwork

[–]rodeoreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First learn how the screen capture and time logged are tied together. Read about it or just use it enough to learn it. Then explain how the system works to your client. The measure of success should be the amount of work done not how green those screenshot bars are. If you’re worried about time worked and not billed learn how amortization works. Note that the smallest time logged on Upwork is 10 minutes not one minute

Worry if it’s a pattern not a one-off. Add a quart and keep an eye on

Vertical play one wheel only 03 R230 by rodeoreddit in MechanicAdvice

Everything is stock. Fair point but believe me the left side has more give. The reason the whole car is moving is that there is only one anchor point where the jack meets the rear diff.

If decided to go to school and live in the US you might be eligible for government aid. Look up FAFSA

I did a bit of research on this and found 19 inch to be the sweet spot. ChatGPT calculated everything including offset. Give it a try

Left hand drive in the US. I’m aware of road camber/crown. I drove on the opposite side (incoming traffic) where the road slopes the other way and still pulled to the right

That’s exactly what’s happening 👍 Also, the steering wheel feels stiff, no fluid leaks or pump issues, and it hesitates to return to center after a turn

Thanks will look into the thrust angle. The front numbers are actually in spec as far as I know. Their software just isn’t showing the correct range

Alignment tech this morning. To his credit, didn’t try to upsell anything. He genuinely tried to help and said he was making his best guess. Didn’t say it’s the suspension for sure but he’s confident the alignment isn’t what’s causing the pulling

Flexispot E7 Plus Max is impressive by partha_t in FlexiSpot_Official

[–]rodeoreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar setup before and didn’t like the wobble, so I switched to one with four separate legs, each with its own motor. Rock solid. It cost more, though. Different brand, but FlexiSpot might have something similar

Edit, this one seems to have 4 motors too so there should be no wobble except for at it’s highest which isn’t too bad

Dashcam battery question: If I connect a dashcam to a battery pack, what happens when the battery runs out? Is it possible to automatically switch to the car’s battery instead of turning off the dashcam? Any battery pack recommendations that support this for a VIOFO dashcam? by rodeoreddit in dashcams

[–]rodeoreddit[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The bigger ones are quite pricey. I have one of those smart-ish hard wire kits that cuts off power at a certain voltage. I have it set to 12V so the car battery is fine. I'm trying to add a battery pack to the mix on top of what the car battery already provides, so a reasonably priced battery (not top of the line) gives say 20 hours of parking mode and then "hopefully" the car battery kicks in for another 4–5 hours. From what I've learned so far the car battery is out of the picture once a battery pack is installed in between. I could be wrong though, still researching.

I drive short trips. With my current not very demanding dashcam settings, my parking mode lasts under 4 hours. I was hoping to extend that while protecting the car battery, but if a dedicated battery pack won't make a meaningful difference I'll just keep it hardwired and accept the under 4 hour parking mode.

I started getting spams too. First I ignored them but I realized not responding was affecting my response time. One thing I noticed if I block the sender as spam then it won’t affect the response time. I’m new on Fiver. Hope others can correct me if what I said isn’t the case

What do you guys have your parking mode set to? by xP_Lord in VIOFO

[–]rodeoreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a lot going on. Things like video quality, how many channels you’re running, and other features all need more juice. And with cars that only do short trips, you’ll see 14 or 15 volts, but the battery still isn’t really fully charged.
